There's been a few studies (don't worry, i'll go search for a link showing you one) that show that people's depth perception is not fully formed untill they are in their early 20's. This would have a positive effect on car crashes.

I think that's an irrelevant point.

I have no doubt whatsoever that it can be conclusively proven that the average (corrected) eyesight and depth perception of 17-20 year olds far, far exceeds that of the average 60-70 year old.

Also, I see kids walking out of a pub after a few drinks, then they go off and drive home.

People 20+ do that all the time too.

through drunken junkies speeding

through my little research.

ive found that excessive speed is the main cause of road accidents.
although this dosen't nessary mean it is the main cause of accidents involving pedestrians.

if you're wondering what the point of my post was.
it was to point out that drivers aren't always too blame.

oh i know, i just think its a good idea to blame it on the drunken speeding junkies!!!

and it's not always the young driver at fault.

Most deaths caused by cars are not murderous, but accidental or simply neglectful. When it comes to what is used most often to kill people, knives win hands down. Guns and knives are generally used as status symbols or psychological weapons rather than to cause physical harm, but this is still unacceptable, whereas cars are and essential part of the economy.
