Today... was a very restful and peaceful day for me: I watched Tiger Woods win the third leg of the FedEx Cup. Watched the Bears vs. Chargers at my local bar for three quarters, before going home to catch up on work for tomorrow. But the biggest highlight of the day was seeing A-Rod hit his 52nd home run of the year and ninth in eleven ames.

Chien-Ming Wang won his 18th. A-Rod hit his 516th career home run and the bullpen was solid in the Yakees winning their 81st game of the year.

The Kansas City Royals were no match for the Yankees, They were outscored 20-10 in the three-game sweep. The Yanks extended their lead to four games over the Tigers in the wild-card division.

The Yankees jumped all over Royals starter Zack Greinke in the first-inning. With one on and and two out, A-Rod gave the Yanks a quick 2-0 lead when his monster, two-run home run landed in the bullpen area in deep left.

The Yankees extended their lead in the second. With one on and nobody out, Wilson Betemit's double pushed across Robinson Cao for a 3-0 lead.

Wang ran into trouble in the fourth. The Royals caught a few breaks that resulted in them tying the game at 3-3.

It didn't take long for the Yankees to regain the lead. With two on and one out in the fifth, Jorge Posada stepped to the plate and ripped a two-run double that sealed the deal for the Yankees.

The Yankees held a 5-3 lead, and went looking for more in the eighth. With one on and one out, Robinson Cano's single brought home Posada for a 6-3 lead.

Mariano Rivera came on in the ninth and struck out three for his 25th save of the season.

Chien-Ming Wang and the bullpen allowed 3 runs, 6 hits, and 4 walks on the day.

A-Rod and Jorge Posada went a combined 4-for-8 with 3 runs and 4 RBIs on the day.
