So any fans? There must be some aside from me, possibly the best band ever to come out of ireland (U2 fans can get f***ed), one of the few bands i've seen blow machine head right off the stage, also the only band i've seen who can get 50'000+ people screaming 'mastubation saved my life'

Therapy? rocks. Probably my fave band of recent (and not so recent) years.

I saw them in Reading (UK) at what was then the Alley Cat, a tiny venue holding about 200 people. I was right at the front screaming along with every breath in me and getting half deafened by the sound system. This was just after the release of Semi-Detached. Andy Cairns stopped on the way off the stage and shook my hand. It was a good night.

Michael McKeegan had his leg in a cast for the gig. One critic complained that he didn't move around the stage enough. I really hope that was irony, especially since he was playing cello for "Diane"!

I suffered from a 2 day hangover. Was a good night.

Uh... I'm not even going to descibe the headache I have from that. It sounds like a few other band's I've heard before though. I definitely wouldn't go buy the album.

Heheheh, their early stuff is a lot "thrashier". The song you heard was from "Troublegum", probably their best known album and kind of a turning point from their early really thrashy stuff to some of the more radio friendly tunes of late. They are much more refined in later albums. In fact, they change significantly with each album, they have a pretty good range really.

to be fair, that and shameless are probably the two worst albums they've done, check out high anxiety and never apologise/never explain, the two strongest albums they've done over the last 10 years.

Semi-detached grew on me after a while. I really never got into Shameless though.

in that case i'd suggest you check out the 'infernal love' album, possibly their most underrated album and has some of their best tunes on it.

also has the best album closer of all time.
