How do you figure? The damage on your side of the border was
astronomically higher and the UN resolution that effectively ended it demanded the
disarmament of Hezbollah (who continued attacking Israel for days after the ceasefire).

I forgot if the kidnapped soldiers were ever returned, but Israel blew the s*** out of
Lebanon. It looks to me like it was pretty one-sided.

edit: I found that Hezbollah still has the soldiers and refuses to acknowledge whether
they're alive or not.

Yeah, Lebanon is a bunch of winners. Congrats to you guys. You got your country blown to
bits for an illegal cross-border kidnapping and yet you "won."

I never said Lebanon won. The war was not between Lebanon and Israel. It was between
Hizbollah and Israel. The UN resolution did not demand the disarmament of Hizbollah. The
Lebanese people are the ones who are demanding the disarmament of Hizbollah.

But with the Paelstinian refugees still around, and the Sheba'a farms still under the control
of the Israelis, this will never happen.

You sure you know what you're talking about?

This is from the text of the resolution.

"require the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon, so that, pursuant to the Lebanese cabinet decision of 27 July 2006, there will be no weapons or authority in Lebanon other than that of the Lebanese State"

You should go read it. It's not very long, and it's pretty easy to understand.

Resolution 1701 did not 'ask' for that. You mentioned it as part of it in your
previous post. Resolution 1701 just 'reminded' us about it.

Also reiterates its strong support, as recalled in all its previous relevant
resolutions, for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political
independence of Lebanon within its internationally recognized borders, as
contemplated by the Israeli-Lebanese General Armistice Agreement of 23
March 1949;

this too is part of the resolution.

Merging your quote and that:
The Israeli army and the UN troops that are now on the Lebanese territory
should disarm as well.

But that's besides the point. I think you only read 'short' stories. Did you read
anything from my first post?
