School Life better than Family Life from a teen's POV

Friendships formed over the course of High School can last forever.You get to pick your freinds - your family is assigned at birth whether you like your family or not does not matter you stuck with them. If your friends are pulling you down you can get new freinds.It is always great to have someone outside of the family to talk to about the family whem you have problems with the family.
Hence, the question - is school life better than family life from the point of view of a teen?

Yes.
I have SO much more fun being with my friends than I do going on family outings.

But you know, a lot of things are different with your family. You only get one family.

I cant honestly say I prefer my what was school life to my family.

My sisters and I, along with our mum have a great laugh...we are all very much alike and get on really well.

I suppose it depends what mood im in. If i fancy being silly I will give Penny (best friend) a call, but noone does a good heart to heart like my mum

When I was in high school I totally prefered being at school with my friends then at home with my family.

But we are now at that point where me and my sisters and my mum have so much fun when we are together, as well as being family I consider my sisters and mum really good friends.

My family have been there for me when my friends have shat on me.

I prefered family life when I was a teen. the simple reason was that there was always a lot more happening with my large family than anything that was going on at school. I used to hate going to school as I found it totally boring and a waste of my precious time!!! I'd give anything to go back and do it all again though!

Agreed... I would much rather deal with the $h!t at school than to deal with crap from my family..... I mean, hey, I have to LIVE with them!

I love my family. I do everything with my family, and my friends think my family is cool, so they like to tag along. My friends are awesome, but my family has always been there

both have their ups and downs.
for example, your friends can be there one day and the next hate you.
but your family will always be there.
my mom and i are really close. we have lots of great times. my bro and i are somewhat close...
and i go to a really small school so it makes it hard with friends and everything so ive only got a few but i love all of them to death.
i can say they are equally important.

In my opinion, they both suck

I choose my family more than school I mean I have good friends we get to have good laughs I also enjoy being at school....but for me my family are the greatest friends I have they we're there for me since the very start as in in diapers they've been there for me

i have no friends thats why i turned to the internet its not that im meen i just dont talk much i would be real nice to my gf if i had one

Well, yes, definitely. But many of my oldest friends I now consider family, so win win in the end, I guess?
