HELP

My roommate just bought a Mac computer from a friend. I helped her set it up and it is not working. It turns on but then has a folder in the middle of a gray screen that flashes the face thing and then a question mark. I turned it off and then back on and still the same thing. Anyone know what is wrong?

What computer is it?
Like, Emac? G5? Imac?

Its an imac but not the newest kind. The kind with the dome type thing as the base.

That's sort of odd.

Maybe your computer has nothing to actually load.
But still, maybe call your local apple centre?

Sounds like something is wrong with the harddrive... I would take it to a mac store, they should be able to fix it for you for free.
