How do you deal with a mean coach?

Your coach is not a softie? Feels more like a jerk?! How do you deal with him/her?

Do you always abide to his strict and severe instructions which are often more like insults targetted at you? Do you have the courage to be blunt and tell him/her how you feel?

If you really want to be good at your sport, always obey the coach. Even if he is a prick, he still is in charge, after all.
By leaving the team, you will not achieve anything. Just nuckle down and MAKE the coach like you. You'll be stronger for it. That's only my opinion.

You have a few options:


(1)- Quit.

(2)- Tune him out.

(3)- Suck it up and take it like a man.


Sure, I 've had coaches who lit into us on a daily basis, but his job is to win championships! And in order to accomplish that goal he has to do what's best for him. And that means that your a** will be rode until the cows home.

Coaches want a full 100%! If you're not willing to put in the effort to play for the right to put that jersey on, then he'll find somebody who will.

All of my head coaches busted my balls every single day that I stepped on that court. And I respected them for it. Not because I deserved it, but because I wanted to win.
