Death Penalty

Since the question of guilt has completely taken over this topic, I would like to ask this:

Is there anyone here who seriously believe that it's okay to kill one innocent person for every 10 guilty murderer who is executed?

I don't believe that! I'm far from believing that, I think it's wrong. No innocent person deserves to die like that.

i am all for the death penalty...not because it is more likely to act as a deterrent for would be offenders, not because it's a more cost effective option...but because it provides the best form of justice. My only concern is that an innocent person may be put to death. This is why i would only support the death penalty where there is NO doubt of any kind as to the guilt of the person. eg Martin Bryant. If there is ANY doubt at all then life imprisonment is the way to go...with life meaning for the term of their natural life.
