started a new job..really wanted this.Since I am older I am very nervous about the trainer. She has 17 years in and is very critical and makes comments on my work that really scares me.The job has 6 months training..I have only 2 months and feel like she wants to write me off...Got any great ideas on this???

it's the bosses job to be critical, you will get used to it, just try to fix what she is critical of...if she is criticizing things that don't need changing then tell her so...

Got your point but your missing that I am just learning...she has all the knowledge. I need the knowledge before I can do the job 100%

that sucks,
you'll just have to sit and listen and out up with it for awhile i think.
you're only starting the training,
you'll get confidence as you go.

maybe politely ask her to show you again because you dont fully understand exactly how she wants your work to be done...

That answered everything. You are learning, she is teaching. If you do not like the fact that she is pointing out things you have done wrong then why be in training? That is the whole point of training. If at 2 months you are still there count yourself lucky. I personally would not keep someone around much longer than that in a training term if they were not showing progress. I am a manager and I train a lot of people. I tell them what they are doing wrong and right.... Stick it out and you will be fine.
