My friend heard a song while in Germany, he said it was like a homage to Surfin' Bird, he asked the DJ the name of the band and she said The Rimmingtons but I can only find a myspace page for them and he said it doesn't sound like the right band. Anyone have any idea?

He said the best way to describe the genre would be "surfing music"

My favorite is "insideout" By Eve 6. It is kind of old but not old enough to be as forgotten as it is. I love that song.

its zombie by the cranberries.

if you know any bit of lyrics, you can just google them and it comes up with the full song..maybe helpful for those that dont want to wait.
