we don't have to, we just need to get into a position were we are aware of our own beliefs.

It is impossable to PROOVE anything. Im sure what i believe is true, just as a Christian would believe God is true. It's all about descovering your own beliefs.

not a problem

just a few here take others people work as their own and pretend to understand it.

get fecked!

It's also worth noticing how long it was from Aquinas until Hume. It took that long for anyone to come up with a decent argument against him.
I don't know why im arguing for Aquinas, i spend my whole time at school arguing against him (theirs just me and one other athiest in the class who aint christian).

Thats because there wasnt really anyone to argue back untill really Kant. I liked St Anselms arguement, its a tricky bugger and no one yet has really criticised it to death. As for big bang, its a no from me.

Too right, its all about your own perception of things and your own core beliefs.

Ahh, it seems we have reached a conclusion on this matter!

It was a good debate mind.

Yeah, guessing you have to have some trust in the numbers and what your seeing.
One of my philisophy housemates was saying that there are some arguments that say electrons dont exist because you cant see them with your own eye, just its interaction.

I guess in same way you could argue that about the big bang, because we cant physically see the beginning of space and time it dont exist?

And no... the universe isnt infinite its just you cant see the edge of it. Infinity is a mathematical specification of an infinite series, the series does tend to infinity on the specification of space-time.

For one, we can see the beginning and can approximate size just it cant be tested to rigourous levels, thats all.

I havent talked physics in ages! I feel like such a bore and geek, especially as I'm not doing spectacularly well in my physics degree.
