Thailand is near here. The last time I've been is to the island of Phuket. That's where the tsunami hit. I was on the first cruise ship there after the disaster.

It's a beautiful place, but it's ALWAYS hot there. The people are very friendly and if they understand your language, they will help you if you ask.

If you are going to the mainland (where I've never been to), my friends suggest you go to Bangkok and go do some serious shopping at their mega-market Chatuchak.

Pack stuff for your stomach if you have a sensitive tummy because hygiene isn't of the highest priority around these places in Asia. The street vendors serve absolutely delicious things but may cause problems. So, do have things like Activated Charcoal and other pills like that for your tummy when you go there.
