I'm biased against it myself... they mix up too much political stuff into science where it doesn't belong.

Hmm...I don't know. I know a guy whose taking it, and he's what you'd call a 'nerd'. Sociology is interesting, but when you take it it kind of gives you that 'outside-looking-in' perspective.
It's interesting, but unless you're planning a career in psychology, I don't know. It's certainly interesting.

i agree! I do like sociology. It's very intersting, and i glad i chose it! I was doing pychology at A/S but didnt carry on!!

Keep going with it, the 2nd year is awesome!!

Sociology, although interesting, is a degree that offers little if any careers to you. Perhaps if you want to study it you could do a law or a social work or clinical psychology degree that would greatly incorporate it but also leave you with job prospects at the end, don't want a uselss degree.

Sociology has a few career aspects

-Criminal or Civil Lawyer
-Crown Attorney
-Judges and Justices
-Police Chiefs and Staff Seargents
-Politics
-Psychology
-Psychiatry
-Teachers,Deans,Principals
-Social Workers
-Counsellors
-aldermans,mayors and other types of politicians or advisors

The list goes on. Social Science is a wide range field and covers alot.

Its not specialist though, all of those you have to team with a MA or other extensive training.

I graduated with a degree in sociology and cultural anthropology....best choice I have ever made.
