Hi

I have just purchased an i-book G3. It has mac os 10.2.4. I have older versions of iphoto, itunes, etc. I want to hook it up with wireless internet (completely portable). If anyone can give me any hints as to the best way to do this, that would be great, and also any other tips a first-time mac user should know!

Thanks all!

Macs are amazingly hard to get used to but in the end are GREAT computers,
just be prepared for some frustrating nights when things don't work.

New Itunes
Quicktime
And don't forget to hunt down a program called Dashboard and Widgets.
Also a program I recommend if your going to be doing work, etc. on it is
called Virtue Clicky

For an Airport hub go Here and search for one.

Anything else you need help with, drop me a line.

And if anyone bags macs I'm negudosing your ass. You have your anti-mac
threads elsewhere, c***s.

If you have an airport card already, you should be able to connect to any
wireless network by just going through your "system preferences."

You can pretty much just click on it and connect.

not actually the case. The equivalent using the standard mouse is to press control while
clicking, and you can also plug a two-button mouse in and it will work just fine, right click
and all.

Would somebody mind just running through a few of the
differences between a mac book and a regular stylee notebook,
i'm want to pick up a lap-top,
it seems to me from the off that mac's are quite a bit more expensive. (or at least have a smaller price range, concentrating on the high end )
what do i get extra for my money?.

Do yourself a huge favor, buy 'The Little Mac Book'. It's around $10 usd and
will handle all your immediate needs. Match your operating sytem to the
edition (Panther, Tiger, OS X 10.3 and etc).

Hi All,

Thanks for that, I do have an Airport card, but I'm pretty new to the whole connecting to internet thing, it's always just been there for me to use. Currently trying to install some software for my NEC mobile. But it can't install because none of applications will open the install thingy. Frustrating, but I'm sure I will get the hang of it.
