Still somehow believe that being a vegan athlete puts you at a disadvantage to your meat-eating competitors? You might want to have a conversation with Juliana Sproles.

The 43-year-old just won the “World’s Toughest Mudder” competition, a 24-hour endurance challenge over a military-style obstacle course that’s considered one of the most difficult contests ever devised. Not only do you have to sign something called a “Death Waiver”, but only those that had finished previous Mudder competitions over the last year (from a field of 150,000) could take place in the final 24-hour NJ contest. So, while the 800 that started were superhuman, you can consider the 50 that actually finished the damn thing akin to an entirely new species; perhaps even alien – or half-Terminator.

Errrrrrrrrrm yes, because it is a legitimate sporting competition if that is the case, I demand the Olympics be held in Takeshi's Castle style events.

May very well be in May

I'm more referring to the labeling the lady as "World's Toughest Woman" as I can't see how she is for finishing an event which is just Takeshi's Castle or Ninja Warrior in the mud can prove you are the toughest woman in the world.

I think you underestimate the physical and mental toughness required to complete any sort of 24 hour test of endurance and strength, let alone one designed by the British Special Forces.

Craig Alexander... Ironman eats meat.

When asked about diet Craig said ‘I don’t believe in fad diets. I just follow normal eating patterns and mix my food. I’ll have red meat, fish and chicken each week and pasta once or twice a week. I am not a big fan of vegetables and I love ice cream and chocolate’.

38-year-old Australian Craig Alexander won the 2011 Ironman World Championships in record fashion. He finished the grueling race in 8 hours, 03 minutes, 56 seconds completing the 140.6-mile race that includes a 2.4-mile ocean swim, 112-mile bike ride through lava fields and marathon run in and around Kona village. The championship was his third in the last four years. He won in 2008 and 2009

2008 COMPETITION RESULTS:
1st Ironman World Championships, Hawaii, USA
1st Muskoka Ironman 70.3, Ontario, Canada
1st Newfoundland Ironman 70.3, Canada

Chrissie Wellington stakes her claim to be world's fittest woman... she is the Ironman World Champion 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2011.

"I love to eat! I take in around 4,000 calories a day. I eat a healthy well-balanced diet; roughly 60 per cent carbs, 30 per cent protein, and the rest is good fats. My meals are scheduled around training and I have a few snacks in-between. I eat a lot of whole grains, nuts and seeds, have red meat once a week and fish or chicken once a day. I sometimes eat liver.... "
