Incidentally I also received a sweet little "I love you!" and "Thank you for delivering our fliers!" from two other little girls who were blonde.

The derogatory comment came from a brunette.

This could be some explanation as to why is seems most little boys grow up preferring blondes to brunettes.

No nick names....but I did get mistaken for a mannequin by some kids coming into a Rainbow store where I worked at the time.

I was standing on the staircase between landings, when these two girls came bouncing down the steps, chatting and giggling the way girls do.
I said, when they got nearer me "watch your step there, that you don't fall"..and the one girl let out a little scream, then she said to her friend, giggling as they continued on... "I thought she was a mannequin!" The other one said. "So did I!" And they both laughed.

In all honesty I think it was that the child's parents did the right thing to attribute a negative stigma to cigarettes.

I was standing out in front of a plaza having a smoke.

I remember when Amanda and I were on our way to Trafalgar Square in London, back in December 2003 for the Rugby World Cup winning celebrations, we were standing on the platform of Portsmouth and Southsea station waiting for the train, I had my flag unfurled on it's pole, over my shoulder.

I was clowning around with Amanda and a little girl, standing nearby and watching us, said to her mother "Mummy, that flag lady's being silly".

I thought she said "Bag lady" and, surprised, I looked round at her in an "I-beg-your-pardon-young-lady?" sort of way. Manda picked up on this and when I told her what I thought the little girl had said, she cracked up.

All the rest of that day she kept calling me "Bag lady".
