"Religious People"

I ran into something again earlier, that I absolutely hate about a certain sect of the human race. I'm sick and tired of all these people who like to go around and act like they're some kind of "christian" when they're nothing more than some a*****e using a god to feel like they're superior to others. Working in retail, you run into all kinds of pricks, but these are some of the more special ones. These f***ers will come in and see something leaning over into the next section of the run, in an area where a cheaper item may belong, so they b**** and moan until you give it to them at said lower price. When you do, all of a sudden they pipe up with a "praise jesus" in honor of you taking a loss on something, just because they're looking to rip you off. You can clearly look up and see the tag states a completely different product, but you decide that even though it's nowhere near the item that's described there, you deserve it at that price. You cheap f***s need to stop trying to steal from people, for the sake of getting a "discount" on something. Not that I'm really all that into the teachings of a book of fables, but I could swear one of the big rules is something about not stealing, and regardless of how you look at it, you're f***ing stealing by your actions. It just amazes me how some people claim to be religious, but the only times they think about or mention their "lord" is when they're either looking to get something for nothing, or when it benefits them. You can choose to believe whatever parable you want, that's all well and good, but for f*** sake, at least follow the teachings of what you "believe" in.

Evil, I am sure that this happens and happens more than once or twice, but honestly, and truthfully, it cannot be just a quote christian that pulls this gig. I worked retail years ago, and John Q Public in general is and can be constantly either nice or just a butthole! I think any human can pull that, and either give you that sh--eating grin that they outdid you, or the smirk. So, I feel that it is a proclivity in human nature for all of us to have.
Of course, the title of Christian or the phoney praise makes a bigger fool of the perps themselves, all the way around.

I hate people like that. I'm a big time Christan and would never rip somebody off. I see Jesus as a Hero and protector, not a way to get further in life. The people you describe are just posers who ruin our "reputation"

Absolutely, I call them psuedo-christians, with the idea of elitistism and exclusiveness, which are precepts completely opposite of the ideal.

I am Christian and I hate these people and you get it from all sorts. Its just like the people who the only reason they do anything good is because they are trying to buy their way in to heaven. You shouldn't only do something just because you are told that is could contribute to your salvation or whatever. You do it because its the right thing.

I think of a lot of Christians as just pretend Christians, who attend church because they thinks its their passport to heaven. This even occurs with ministers. Normally when a minister preaches radically about one sin and condemns people for it, eventually you find out that they were the most fallible towards the sin they were preaching about.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. ~ 1 Corinthians 5:11

That was King James - here it is in today's language: I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don't even eat with such people.


Yep - it covers people like those you encountered today - and in spades, cuz Bubba, you and your company were extorted today.

You'll be safe as long as you never sit down to eat with them.

I don't buy into the fairy tale book that some thump on.

I worked in the food service business for a decade or so , and yes while you get the rip offs from all types and all walks of life. When you get some holy rolling ,bible thumping rip off it just seems worse then if it's not one of those types.
I hated working Sunday mornings . They would come in from their churches all full of themselves and making snide remarks about working Sundays and how sinful some people were. I got fired from a job one Sunday when I'd taken all that I could and ask that ole big mouthed broad where would she be stuffing her mouth if I the bunch of us sinners hadn't showed up for work that morning?

Sorry for you bad experinces, but think, about all the others that you never met, or had any dealings with that name themselves christians eh?

Most of us never mention it, rather we try to live it, and perhaps that is why noone ever says anything other than gee that was a nice person!!! And to me that is the whole point!

It always bothered me when subjects were lumped into such generalities, always made wonder how one knew or understood what the right foot was as opposed to the left,,,,or thought they were both the same, because of the identical shoes!

I have met them that try to 'minister by example' or as you said try to live it.
I probably have been exposed to some of each 'christian' organized religion out there.I had 5 step mothers and each one had a different preacher they felt inclined to impress with their 'good works'
Plus I was very close to my paternal grandparents , grand dad was a catholic and grand ma was a baptist.
And once I was engaged to a wannabe preacher and just narrowly escape being sent to bible collage to be 'trained' as a preacher's wife .

Hmmmmm a surfeit of others beliefs and others ideas rammed down the throat either boldly or subtly, not good, not good at all. None of your own private reflections or hard thinking about the subject at all, and no encouragement to even do it....I am not surprised at your take on the subject. Sorry for that, I am.


I am a believer, actually like that better, and I attend no formal church, visit once in a while, but you see, my belief is a lifestyle that allows me to tithe my time, my money, my whatever to the needs around me, to the hungry, the needy, the sick....that is by choice, not to a building fund, nor a car for the preacher or clothes or for the padded seats etc. etc. I am somewhat of a radical, not able to fit into the institutional mold of organized religion, rather the model of the Christ period. Anyway, my heart really does go out to the negatives that you have had in your life. Think about you and your life and not the other stuff, it does not really relate to you, you are special, there will never be another you on this earth, and that is a gift to each of us....Fill your own mold, it does not mean being a phoney, a fanatic, rather a real human. JMO
