Sounds like the prosecution had a weaker case than the defense. There is such a thing as reasonable doubt and if the prosectuion couldn't prove she did it beyond a reaonable doubt, the jury voted correctly.

I am surprised she didn't get guilty on manslaughter, however....but we weren't in the jury box so really dont' know what they were thinking or what their thoughts were.
I've never been on a jury, but it has to be a different frame set than just watching on TV?

I just didn't think she would be found "not guilty".....I guess the state just didn't prove their case.

Or there wasn't enough evidence to convict? I don't know. Maybe some of the jurors will give interviews.

I think it was pretty clear that she wouldn't be charged for the higher charges like first degree murder. In a criminal case, you have to show guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt and there were too many reasonable doubts. The defense team were awesome, but still.. it kind of sucks as we all know that something criminal did happen and she gets to walk.

I think she didn't get charged with withholding information though... but I doubt she'll get any jail-time for it since she's been held in prison for over a year now and probably has served her time.

I don't know. I think it might have been the way she looked or dressed or bahaved, something but I don't know what made them see her as something I don't think she is. I thought she could have killed her child.

Do you realize that "I think she could have killed her child" is not quite enough for a guilty verdict?

My point is that there's no reason in the world for you to think that the jury felt sorry for her, and that was the reason for the not guilty verdict.

I do realize that. I still think the jury might have felt sorry for her. I don't know why, I just do!

It is tough to make a case on circumstantial evidence.

It is damn near impossible to make a case for murder without a cause of death.

That missing fact is what sunk the prosecution's case.
