I watched portions of this documentary about women who gave birth without knowing they were pregnant last night.

Obviously it's rare but it's happened more than once. Basically, women were on birth control, mistook spotting for having periods, failed multiple pregnancy tests, didn't gain much weight, and had no symptoms that usually accompany pregnancy.

Put all that together, I'm not sure I would think I was pregnant either. And then to suddenly give birth one day? I think I'd be scared out of my mind.

I think I'd need counselling or something! I don't even want kids right now. . . I'd be so gutted if it happened to me before i had a chance to review my choices.

I didn't see that show last night, but there was one similar to it a few months back on TLC. That would be a scary thing to go through. BAM! Here's Baby!

*If you are The Pill, don't use Pepto Bismol(Pink liquid to aid in Heartburn relief).....you can get preggers! It happened to a friend of mine.

For my last child I was four month pregnant before I knew. Just moved 8 months before, started a new job, so I was stressed with so many new things going on, I didn't have my period for 4 months. (7yrs before same situation...but was not pregnant...just stressed) so I never even thought I might be pregnant. Well, Suuurprise, suuurprise, suuurprise!

Oh actually I think I may have seen the one on TLC. I didn't see any of the women in the clip I posted but I figured those were just parts I didn't watch (I had to stop watching after a while ) or that I forgot their faces. I didn't think there'd be more than one video on it.

It happened to a friend of my sisters. She went to the emergency room with a stomach ache and went home with a baby.

It was really cool, her work put around a collection and by the time she left the hospital they had bought her everything she needed.

I've watched that a couple times.

Discovery Health and the "health" shows on TLC are some of my favorite things to watch...i can just watch them anytime, and never get bored.

Yeah...its really weird how that happesn...though I can understand with some women.

I did see the one episode, where a girl that was only 110 lbs when she became pregnant, and only gained 5lbs...and went through it all without realizing she was pregnant, of course with the missed periods etc. But that was just weird...she never had much of stomach in her pregnancy...

A friend of mine told me that a girl in her brothers year at school didn't know she was pregnant.

She went into labour at her school formal and the baby was delivered by her boyfriends father.

I know this happens, but personally, I don't know anyone that it did happen to. I agree, it would be a mind- blower -- BAM a baby. No adjustment time.

My neighbor did that, she went into ER with a "stomach ache" and was really in labor. Needless to say it was a shock.

She had gained about 10lbs during the pregnancy, and she was by no means "fat" to start with. and even odder it was her second child. Her husband was very surprised to get that phone call, they were scrambling for "baby stuff" as they has just gotten rid of lots of it for lack of storage space.

I would not cope if I just all of a sudden had a baby.

I am in no way ready for babies.

For all three of my pregnancies, I didn't really start to show a lot until I was 7, 8 months. People would think I was only 4,5 months pregnant. In a matter of a week I would end up looking like someone filled my belly with a ton of air. Then on the flip side, from the time was sister was 5months preggers, you'd think she was carrying twins, then triplets or quadruplets at 9months

I'm actually really surprised at how many people so far know someone who this has happened to. I was like totally shocked at the idea

And yeah, I'd be so scared if a baby just suddenly came out of me Sorry for the visual but that's about all I could think of as I was watching that documentary last night.
