There is no worse pain than stepping on a Lego.

We all respond differently to pain for lots of various reasons. So many variables its impossible to measure.

A very healthy and active young woman who meditates regularly and has a baby in the perfect delivery position might find childbirth more bearable.

Testicular trauma is undoubtedly extremely painful, up there with urinary and kidney stones.

However pain is not a contest. Anybody who wishes to claim anything more painful than childbirth really ought to have experienced it first.

I have known women who would rather give birth than have a tooth pulled.

I have also seen children with terminal illness put on a "brave smile" for their parents despite being in a huge amount of pain.

I never really understand this debate as I've been kicked hard, in the balls, and it isn't the worst pain I've ever had.

It isn't even in the top five.

Heartbreak?

Not a patch on some of the headache's I've had in my life.

Anyway, hearts don't have nerve endings so I'm unsure if they can really hurt.

Give me a break!

This s*** is so ridiculous. It really bothers me when men will say/do anything to make child birth seem like "no big deal."

Idk why but that is one of my biggest pet peeves!!
Ugh!

9000 del of pain my ass... "A human body can bear only up to 45 del (unit) of pain. But at the time of giving birth, a woman feels up to 57 del (unit) of pain. This is similar to twenty bones getting fractured at a time."

And speaking to a nurse that I know, she says "units of pain" are complete BS. Everyone's pain threshold is different.

I can't say much about child birth since I am a guy. I can say though that being kicked or even punched in the balls actually hurts like f***ing hell.

That is a painful site. Thank God it was a hockey puck and not a baseball being pitched 90 mph.

I wonder if his balls are still intact if that really happened.

One of my Great Grandmothers had 11 children. She said she had no idea what women were whining about. There are several options here:

She had a superior tolerance to pain.
Her pain was less than most for some simple physiological reason.
She had a strong attitude that won't admit pain.
or most women make more fuss than is needed.

I don't know, but it seems to me that people are trying to equate a sudden, impact style pain with a sustained lower level pain which is prolonged.

when my son was being born ,the midwives were shocked and confused by me contorting my face in agony and squealing with pain ..... what they didn't realize is my partner was crushing the bones in the back of my hand against the metal bolt on the gas and air bottle as she contracted ... i really believe that our childs birth was actually more painful for me .... she hardly made a sound .

i think you might be on to something when you say 'most women make more fuss than is needed '... because women do seem to visit their doctors surgery far more often than men ... men just get on with it
