For the past couple of weeks my partner has been urinating every hour and constantly drinking to refill.

Here mouth is constantly dry to the point where she can't eat anything spicy and the skin on her hands is dry and cracking.

She has an doctor's appointment tomorrow and being a registered nurse she suspects pre-diabetes but does anyone have any other ideas as to what might cause this?

It seems that she's mostly suffering from not being able to retain fluids.

Stress weight and diet

She's averagely stressed and her and her mother cook very healthy meals and she doesn't over eat but she was on a medication years ago that obliterated her calorie burning system so she is a heavy girl.

Would obesity lead to loss of water retention?

It does sound like diabetes although you're usually quite hungry and you lose a lot of weight. Best to get her to a hospital.

If I only I could get her to a hospital, she is stubborn and insists on waiting for her doctor's appointment tomorrow.

And yeah, she's also lost thirty pounds in one week.

Imagine that weight loss was from the massive release of fluids.

She hasn't been very hungry though, just dreadfully thirsty.

Thanks for the information, Dan.

sounds like a bad case of Dia-beetus. You should contact your local Wilford Brimley at once to receive your Dia-beetus testing supplies.

She's had her tests and she has type 1 Diabetes. She's got the little machine, insulin, the works.

Neither of us are too worried because it's common and treatable but it's still a s***ty thing to have to spend 30% of your waking day managing.

Well about the diet she might not be getting enough salt which, or it could be a hormone imbalance. If I were you I would be praying for type 1 because its a completely mangable disease.
