Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-Ohio), one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach former president Donald Trump, on Thursday announced he will not seek reelection in 2022, citing a desire to “build a fuller family life” as well as “the toxic dynamics inside our own party.”

Yep… another one walks away.

I'm in his district.

Another weighing factor is re-districting Ohio. The talk is that because he voted for impeachment, his district will be eliminated.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois who has been a strong critic of former President Donald Trump, announced in a video Friday morning he is not running for reelection.

Yep... another one walking away.

Of course if these many GOPers who have been walking away actually had integrity (and a set of testicles... proverbially speaking) then maybe the GOP wouldn't be the Trump loving wreckage that it presently is.

Just keep walking away you cowards.

This week could just be the political pendulum swing and further evidence of the undecided or "independent" vote.

The GOP did well in Virginia of all places.

Hmmm.

That's because the black ops GOPers gained control of the election system and changed the votes.

I wondered the same thing. But he is probably too careful to say such things.

Agreed.

I'm glad he will be working for CNN now... not so big on the "+" part... it probably means I'll have to pay extra to watch him, and that isn't going to happen.

The day after the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, three local Republican officials in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County announced they were leaving the GOP.  Among them was Ethan Demme, a lifelong conservative who had previously served as the youngest Republican Party chairman in this deeply red corner of southeast Pennsylvania.

Disgusted by the denial of the 2020 election and the violence at the Capitol, Demme and his two colleagues sent a joint  letter on January 7 to the county GOP chair saying the party they once knew was "gone and has left us behind."

I walked away long before they did, but the "Disgusted" part is the point.

Still I confess to almost wanting Trump to be the GOP's man in 2024...

Him losing again would be awesome.

Him winning again might just destroy both political parties... I know, that part is pie in the sky.
