At least 150 people were killed by gun violence in more than 400 shootings across the country during the Fourth of July weekend as major cities nationwide confront a surge in violent crime, according to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive.

Only 150 people were killed in these shootings... most of the victims survived... so that's good... right?

Happy 4th of July!

Yeah, most people that get shot aren't going to die from it. So don't worry, Be Happy!

it would more effective in volume that people use tanks than guns, you have better numbers than 150 people killings. more cooler to see people blow up than get a bullet in the back.

To paraphrase someone...

Yeah, well . . . those who don't walk around in bullet proof vests and ballistic helmets take their chances.

Most people won't get shot.

Those who do likely won't die.

If you're scared, put on a bullet proof vest and ballistic helmet, and stay in bed.

They do what they want and you do what you want.

Win win.

There's a lot of people to shoot in America
And each year many get shot
many more get wiped out by natural disasters and pandemics
but you still can't find a decent job.

And you'd think those natural disasters would generate more jobs as well.

Towards the end of one's life when hindsight provides truths hidden to us when we were younger...

Yes, those types of jobs would've been the most lucrative and worthwhile.

the deadliest shooting at a US K-12 school since 2018

Maybe that's why this thread has been so quiet, no big time shoot'em ups.

and the 32nd on such a campus since August 1.
Maybe that's why this thread has been so quiet, it has become commonplace.

Thoughts and prayers
We need new regulations
Enforce the laws we've got
Can't stop 'em all
It's my right
yadda yadda yadda

Here's your Good Boy with a Gun:

A 13-year-old boy who was manufacturing and selling so-called "ghost guns" has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his 14-year-old sister with one of his own homemade firearms, according to the Douglas County, Georgia, Sheriff's Office.

Two people had come to the family's home in Douglasville, about 20 miles west of Atlanta, on November 27 to purchase a gun that the 13-year-old made, Douglas County Sheriff Tim Pounds said in a news conference livestreamed by CNN affiliate WGCL Wednesday.
But instead of buying the firearm, the pair stole the gun from the 13-year-old and fled the scene, the sheriff told reporters. The boy then shot at them as they were leaving, Pounds said, but instead struck his 14-year-old sister, who was identified by the sheriff's office as Kyra Scott. Investigators believe the weapon he used was one that he had made.

But hey - all that was legal up until the theft and a dead sister, right?

Gov DeSantis wants to create a 'good guys' group, aka Florida State Guard (not National Guard).

I think 23 states have them... Texas' state defense force was assigned to monitor the U.S. Military a few years ago when conspiracy theories had Obama trying to use our armed forces to take over the USA.

Of course Obama wasn't trying to take military control of the USA... and if he had the Texas defense force couldn't have stopped it.... I see a South Park episode in all this...

Anyway plus points for DeSantis... Florida Man will love it!

And, of course again, that defense force will not be out there protecting students and teachers from shooters....

But, hey! It's good for getting votes....

Maybe...

That same conspiracy was around for the "2012" panic. And probably for y2k as well.

It's a regular exercise by the military.

Kind of like Lil' Kim and his threats over the annual US-SK military exercises.

But yeah, that Desantis Force doesn't sound safe in this day and age... and his mental disposition.

Mass shootings for the weekend.

A drive-by shooting Friday night in New Iberia, Louisiana, injured five people, among them a 7-month-old, according to the local police department.
These were the results of disputes between people or groups of people. Not some random nut-bag killing for the joy of killing.

Speaking of which ... So happy that our gov signed into a law allowing concealed carry for anyone that can buy a gun. No add'l checks or training, and now carriers don't even have to let the police know if they are carrying.

We'll have to keep an eye on accidental self-inflicted GSW statistics aka Moron Meter ...

Unfortunately, some of those morons leave their firearms laying around for their kids to get ahold of.
