Its Lockdown time here in the UK. Our PM has acted decisively and a day after saying the schools would stay open and that there would be no national lockdown, the schools are shut and here I am, in lockdown. He received the latest "science", I just presume he received it a week or so later than most of us.
Anyway, enough griping. Why be pulled down by blusterers who prefer mumbo jumbo to plain speech!!!
Having my own mental health issues I did fear another Lockdown but so far I have thrived. My guitar has been played more often, although there are only so many renditions of "Bringing In The Sheeves" you can strum before it becomes tiresome.
I have also taken up watercolour. Any tips from others will be welcomed. My first attempt was of a flower, the second a mountain scene with hut and tree. It is rather strange. To begin my tree I reached for my brown paint (of course) and tried valiantly to draw the trunk. This morning I looked again at a few Kindle HD reproductions of some Van Gogh paintings. They looked so REAL, so vibrant, everything in motion. And, of course, his tree trunks were blue. Which just goes to show.
Anyway, my own tree progressed. I decided to add leaves (green) and a few cherry blossoms (red). I ended up with the first tree to catch measles. Maybe I should have used purple and yellow?
A free App came along to save the day. You can take a photo and then press various options (about 60) which then produce a "deep art effect" upon your own photographed creation. Superb! The sky of my landscape mountain scene was transformed into Hokusai type waves, my tree into an indistinguishable blob, and the little hut I had added as an afterthought into a wavering box of merging colours.
Well, my coffee is finished.
