My god doesn’t do this.

Humans, some, project that the mythical god of Abraham does this, but that is because they either A) are using religion to gain power over others, or B) using religion as a drug to dull reality.

Your god is more moral than the Christian one.

Say you had observed psychopaths playing god so you wrote what you saw down. Of course they would know you were doing this so you'd have to be cautious. Also, they would take over the religion you were creating with your observations and attempt to re write (and have their priests reinterpret) everything. What would be the result?

There would be some discrepancies apparent to those who use logic. They would put wipe out older versions, and want to wipe out the people who followed those religions. And they would attempt to keep anyone from digging up the past. If they did they would attempt to commandeer anything found for fear of being revealed.

Or none of that happened.

Instead, as an example that we we know for a fact happened, the Emperor Constantine high jacked the "young" christian church.

Funny how it works: When you have facts to turn to, you don't have to create "what if" scenarios.

You know the story about how Constantine killed his second wife and first born son? Other accounts say his second wife killed his son and then he had her killed for doing it. Hard to say for sure as he had all records of both of them erased.

You describe the mainstream god religions.

Christianity is about the worst of those you describe.

I think it's because the Roman gods took over the religion.

I agree. Constantine likely knew who was best suited to led inquisitions and end the freedom of religion Christians of today demand and cry for.

You know Constantine killed his son? Well maybe, the alternative story is his second wife killed him. He had her killed and then all records of both of them destroyed.

Par for the course for the old Empirical families.

Try the history of the early Popes and see even worse.

Little known factoid....

In the early days of the Catholic church wealth and power largely revolved around property and material wealth.
Meanwhile property and material wealth were passed on to the eldest son.

The leaders of the church figured out quickly that to build up their power, the needed to keep the property and material wealth obtained by Bishops and Cardenals....

How to do that was easy: Create some bull s*** church dogma saying that Bishops and Cardinals had to be single... no wives... no legitimate children... i.e. no legitimate heirs.

And, as one can imagine, if the bosses don't get to have wives the subordinates (priests in this case) weren't allowed to have wives either.

Of course many of the various monks were already doing this bride of christ celibacy s***, so it was (mostly) and easy sell.

And then came the priests that were like, "oh hell no! You're not stopping me from getting some sin free sex!"

And then came The Protestant Reformation....

God killing his children is not a good fatherly example.

Any man doing so would be seen as insane.
