Yeah, I watch it (it's on now). As a filler waiting for something else to come on - usually NASCAR.

It's still football!
I don't have any real vested interest in any team (yet), no team locally.
Except for maybe Cardell Jones from OSU is on the DC team.

I like the PAT options:
Play for the end zone from the 2yd line for 1pt
5 yd for 2
10 for 3

Kickoffs are different. Effective, without the high risk of injury.

They have live feeds of coaches calling plays. That's interesting. And probably more so for someone who is really "into" football.
And they have cameras and reporters down on the sidelines talking to the players and coaches during the game. A lot "closer" interaction for the audience.

Probably the biggest difference - in a positive way - is that it's not a bunch of prima donnas dancing and showboating every time they make a play, or crying and blaming when they don't.

It also seems a little more serious than the previous XFL.

I'd like to see it stick around for a while.

I just heard the announcers mention that the winning team earns $100,000 bonus to be split among the active team.

So I wondered What is an average salary?

$55k

A full-time starter can range from $43k to $66k

So they have a little bit of an incentive to win as a team

(BTW: NASCAR has started, but I'm watching the end of Sea v Hou .. NASCAR - it's only Phoenix)

I don't know much about the XFL, but the idea of expanding football in the USA doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It would make more sense, to me, if there was a plan to expand the CFL into the USA.

The CFL has 9 teams. If they could expand to 18 teams (or maybe 16 teams) when they play their Grey Cup championship they would be able to argue that since their championship was an international championship the winner would be the "real" world championship of football.

They could take away one or two NFL teams (like the Miami Dolphins and the Detroit Lions)...

They might eventually expand... say two team in Mexico...

...maybe even one in Cuba...
