My favorite part about Greta is her unflinching and quiet otherness. She's pretty much human and I'm sure one day she'll fall in love and become a good mother. But for now, we see her assuming a posture which reminds me a little of Sinead O'Connor pre-Catholic tantrums when she was content to be bald and alien.

Pretty much how I view our lord and savior Donald Jesus Christ Trump.

Side note: I find it strange how obsessed older men are with Greta...

I don't think talking about the mascot of the Cult of Climatology is "obsessive."

You seem to talk more about the obsessions of old men than old men talk about Greta...

The only reason she is "mascot of the Cult of Climatology" is because you insecure old men are obsessed with her.

You Trump lovers give people like Greta, AOC, and many others all their power.

If you snowflakes and your snowflake king hadn't started whining and crying about her, she would have disappeared into the clutter of all the other news stories lost to the media cycle in a week or less.

As it is, you buttercups all start having little hissy fits and she becomes "person of the year".

As to me talking about the obsessions of old men, I absolutely do talk about the obsession of you bunch of complaining pansies... I can't help calling out on your pathetic immaturity... it is doubtful that you have one set of testicles between the lot of you.

Your love of Cadet Bone Spurs and fear of women, especially young women, is truly hilarious.

For f***s sakes, my allergies are acting up. And I can’t laugh and breathe at the same time. Y’all might literally kill me. id like to se 2020

Seriously though, Greta and AOC are both average women but the reaction to them gives them even more of a voice otherwise, and both are smart enough to use it to get even more attention for their cause/purpose. Anyone in their position would. It’s how the game is played, but then it pisses everyone off even more when the dumb girls know the rules, and can still work with in them.

Seriously, AOC’s job as a jr but popular “left” member of the Democratic Party, was to draft a new green deal from the most left starting point for negotiations, so when pelosi and everyone else starts changing bits to get more votes the party has room to still get some things that they want.

Like you want a job for 75, but will take 60, you start negotiating around 90ish. Depending on how serious your first suggestion has to be. AOC has the power and attention to start that out at 100, a little much — but it can be tweaked. That’s how the game has been played since Washington and Hamilton.

If the democrats had started a little more extreme with the healthcare negotiation, we may have gotten something better than Obamacare. The group gave up too much, and it’s part of the problems. The right is good about negotiating. Just look at how they are approaching the abortion issue. Start extreme, like demanding a medical procedure that doesn’t exist

Not sure why you lump me in with the obsessed anyway. I mocked her then moved on. It wasn't me who started this thread talking about some pointless rag giving her a pointless trophy for participating in the cult.

I do agree that people should treat her and AOC in the manner they warrant now - disinterested pity mixed with an extreme case of genuine unconcern.

I am sure where ever she is now she is happily being unhappy and complaining about something or other. Good luck to her.

As far as AOC, I think she's pretty much slipped off the radar hasn't she?

They gave up, or added in, just to get some of their own party on-board.
Damn those people that think for themselves and not follow lock-step with the party!

I think it is hilarious that the "Individual Mandate" was actually a Republican Idea (thank you Newt), but has become an albatross for the Democrats.

As soon as the Republicans turned on it, the Democrats should have said Oh... So now you don't want the "Individual Mandate"... We're cool with that... let's draft the legislation to drop the "Individual Mandate" so that the big corporations can cover the costs... its what we wanted all along... thank you!

The corporations would have been like, WTF!

The Republicans would have been like, Uh.... Wait! What!?

The Democrats would have been like, Nitwits!

Instead the dumb a** Democrats took the blame for Republican stupidity....

"Pretty much nothing has been done since the global emissions of CO2 has not reduced," Thunberg said. "[I]f you see it from that aspect, what has concretely been done, if you see it from a bigger perspective, basically nothing ... it will require much more than this, this is just the very beginning."

Maybe Greta can do a new intro:

My Lords I call to order
On the issue of the environment
Nothing is being done

My lords we can't keep dancing along
Pretending everything is just fine
The consequences are devastating
We must strike out and rescue this
Fine earth upon which we live
Mother nature as suffered far too long and quite enough
What's she been said my lords
Nothing is being done
Nothing is being done
Nothing is being done
I repeat nothing nothing nothing is being done
