Now to be serious - this was a hideous event, but you have to wonder why people were being taken that close to a volcano that was active at the time. As I understand it it had been considered unsafe by experts in the field and the tour operators should have been cancelling these tours or at the very least warning people of the imminent threat of some kind of volcanic event.
