A few things are certain, your subconscious remembers even if you don't. Someone who has hydrophobia may have drowned in their past life.

Note also the long time difference between the death of Napolean and the birth of Conkling, 67 years. This is a long time probably indicative of another lifetime lasting approximately 63 years or possibly two shorter lifetimes of approximately 30 years. The current natural reincarnation rate is 2 years plus or minus 6 months.

This is a mistake and I apologize, Conkling was born in 1829. I re-read my own post incorrectly, but the information on reincarnation rates is correct.

How does reincarnation account for more people now than in the past?

Were there 7 billion souls waiting in a queue for a vessel?

There are also two lines from somewhere (two different somewhere's, I think) that are interesting:

The living out number the dead.

Something about when the last soul in heaven is born, the coffers must be re-filled ...? i.e. world catastrophe resulting in massive human death.

I don't know if either of them are true, but it makes for good end-times theologies.

All the animals that we humans are driving to extinction... they are/were sentient beings... apparently they were very bad in their lives and are now being punished by reincarnating into human beings.

That's a great question, not my area of expertise however. I've had some lengthy discussions about this with a number of people; most of whom know more about this subject than I do.
No one is 100% certain where the additional souls come from.

What we do know is the apparent natural reincarnation rate has accelerated. Reincarnation times from before the incredible surge in humans seems to be on the order of 10 to 12 years. Right now that rate is 1 and 1/2 to 2 and 1/2 years (approximately 2 years).
The rate measurements we have are from European historical accounts prior to the industrial revolution. Some of these birth data are difficult to acquire. Try finding Hernan Cortez' birthday. The measurement from prehistory are estimates only and, some believe, based on poor or even incorrect assumptions about humankind's past.

Here is a link to some estimates on past planetary population and a lengthy discussion on why there is so much discord in those estimates.

Ahh .. so the un-embodied level must be at it's Lowest Ever!! What a great thing for the existential cosmic universe. The Lord of the Universe, Emperor Supreme of All Times and Spaces Trump the Superior must be pleased!
I expect to see a tweet about that soon.

I like the part in the World Population Wiki about pre-humans and other human races. The fact we ( homo sapiens sapiens ) coexisted with Neanderthals, Denisovans, Hobbit People and other species of humans in the past is a very recent discovery made possible with the advent of computing. This gave us the capability of gene mapping. It also adds to our estimated number of sentient beings. what else don't we know?

But I say "damn the torpedoes" let's do the math anyway.
This will be for the fun of it because we have no way of knowing if we are going to be correct in our assumptions
>> let's use mrmhead's chart for our numbers
>> let's assume a static number of souls ( The place you are talking about is the Guff, where unborn souls are according to the Talmud. The prophecy relates to the first child born without a soul signalling the end of the world - interesting they were talking about overpopulation so long ago)

We need to pick a population number based on our ability to confirm reincarnation rates, unfortunately that's not very long ago. 600 million in 1700 CE and 990 million in 1800 CE.
1) If we go with the 600 million with the conservative end of the reincarnation rate estimate of 10 years.
This means we are reincarnating 5 times faster now than in 1700 and there should be approximately 3 billion people living (does not include those waiting to be born).
2) If we go with the 990 million and the liberal end of the reincarnation rate estimate of 12 years we are saying people are reincarnating 6 times faster now than in 1800. Our result would be 5.94 billion people living.
3) Therefore, our estimate spectrum is between 3 billion and roughly 6 billion people and that is incorrect!
There are around 7.5 billion people in the world today.

There is one limiting factor however and that is the planets under which people are reborn. The correct sequences don't cycle around that quickly. The limit on the minimum time of reincarnation has to do with the gestation period of 9 months in addition to the correct planetary relationships. That is to say 1 and 1/2 years is about as quickly as that's going to happen. One of my mentors added to this conundrum: the rate of premature births.

If we introduce the possibility of some souls staying in the Guff and refusing to be reborn then we can keep the static number of sentient intelligent souls assumption.
I think we have to abandon that idea and say it is possible the Dogon are correct; somehow their souls migrated here from another planet/dimension. Did they crash land here, die and reincarnate as humans? Did they hitch a ride on an interstellar object like the Heaven's Gate people? Did they die on their own planet and just sort of end up reincarnating here? The answer is this
WHO KNOWS !!!!!!!!!
It is not pertinent to the current dangerous situation we find ourselves in.

As far as proving reincarnation to anyone I will say it is extremely difficult to do. This is really a self learning and awareness thing. I don't want to come off as arrogant but I will say this about reincarnation; some people don't believe in reincarnation, some people do believe in it, and some people know. And that's really where a mentor will try to point you. I am not trying to be anyone's mentor and this isn't my area of expertise.

What is important for people to grasp is the historical conflict of religions that teach reincarnation and those that deny it. My point is the religions that deny it don't really deny it. They keep their own secrets about it to themselves and present it to their flocks as sorcery. This conflict (mixed in with some programmed superstition) is at the root of most of humanities problems.
