Why do Christians and Muslims see freedom of choice, thought and religion as a sin?

Both Christianity and Islam have used, --- and continue to use, inquisition and jihads, --- be it at a low non-lethal level by the discrimination and denigration of women and gays with their homophobic and misogynous teachings or the more lethal type where those who will not believe quite the way they do get murdered. Those vile tools are also used to deny women and gays equality and make them second class citizens.

Low or high level inquisitions and jihads are designed to end freedom of thought and religion in those who will not believe that they too must kowtow to some invisible absentee god who only speaks through immoral men.

I think that only immoral people will follow a genocidal god who can only seem to forgive us our inherited sins by the shedding of the blood of an innocent man.

Jesus said he came to cure and not to kill.

Can a believer tell me why rejecting an obviously evil god who kills when he could cure, --- according to Jesus’ standards such a god would be evil, --- would be wrong? Jesus would.

Regards
DL
