Not sure if anyone heard of it, but as I dug deeper into the Electronic Dance Music genre, I learned more of various sub-genres. One of them that makes me energetic and happy is Hardstyle. It sounds a bit aggressive, but to me it's very catchy and hypes me up when I work out (on the few occasions, that I need to increase). I know you may, or may not like it, but here is an example:

There’s some good stuff in that genre, but sometimes it can be a bit repetitive.

Trance and progressive is more my thing, especially vocal and/or uplifting.

Lot of stuff out there.

That was pretty awesome!

Glad you liked it. There’s a lot more where that came from. I’d check out Aly & Fila’s weekly “Future Sound of Egypt” mix (where that song was from) and Armin’s weekly “A State of Trance” show (long considered the authority of trance), both found on YouTube as well as podcasts and iTunes every week.

Anyways, sorry, I didn’t mean to diverge this thread away from the topic of hardstyle. I liked your video too. Hardstyle has been around for a while, but it’s recently been revived into the sound you hear in that track. It used to be a lot more repetitive and hard-edged mechanical sounding when it was underground back in the day.

No worries. I will be adding that song to my spotify.

I haven't heard the old Hardstyle, but from what I've heard so far, I truly enjoy it. Even the very angry ones like Angerfist.

I'm not sure I get Ran-D's performance.
There's a lot of lights and pyrotechnics, he mouths a few words, and turns a knob two or three times to a recording of souped up version of a Cranberries song.

I didn't see anyone else on stage.

That probably wasn't the best example.
