I think the problem here is that poll numbers don’t lie. The real issue is is that Mr. Trump has had wavering support all his support is wavering it goes up it goes down it goes up it goes down it goes up it goes down it goes up it goes down. That happens every day all day. Every day all day his support is wavering up and down a little bit more a little bit less a lot lot more a lot lot less up up up down down down up up up down down down.

Or the problem is that Trump is a liar and his supporters are apparently delusional.

That doesn't speak well of nearly half of the voters.

I kinda have entertained this thought myself, far fetched as it may seem.

Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it.

Do you think he believes that the way he sounds and looks to the world, is acceptable to the world ? I can't imagine that he hasn't seen / read any of the many articles ,talk shows , the comments on different social media sites just to name a few ..

One thing unintelligent people tend to do is assume those that disagree with them are idiots.

Overwhelmingly the people here at TFS disagree with me, but do any of you honestly believe I am an uneducated moron? That is no more a reasonable belief than it is for me to assume that of all of you. Some of you will be smarter than me, some not so, but in the grand scheme of things where none of us knows even 0.01% of all there is to know, what difference does it make (to quote our dear friend Shillary who blessedly gave us all the great God-Emperor Trump)?

The reality is that we could all point to people who are for and against Trump who are smarter and dumber than any of us. This article claiming Trump supporters are on average dumber and fearful is just more pointless confection for the Chardonnay liberals and psuedo-intellects who lounge in university staffrooms thinking their intelligent because they beat semi-literate 18 year olds in arguments for a living.

To give one example of how absurd such proclamations of superiority are; there is almost no one on the left, especially among the "progressive" Democratic Socialists, who believes National Socialism is on the left.

Is this a reasonable view? No. It's patently absurd.

The average Democratic Socialist sprouts the same crap as National Socialists (about a privileged race and social justice). And quite a few of them either mask up and act like Brownshirts on the streets in ANTIFA, or, they defend or excuse them. And the whole time they go about claiming Nazism is on the far, extreme right and is the greatest evil ever, and that everyone who disagrees with them is a Nazi.

Now, I agree Nazism is evil. I call it the second greatest evil, but that's somewhat beside the point. It's more the irony I'm intrigued by. How retarded does someone have to be to sprout Nazi propaganda, act like a Nazi, and attack people as Nazis for opposing it?

And many of these same spastics will go off their chops if someone wears a shirt saying, "It's ok to be white." Do they ever ask themselves how a Brownshirt in Germany in 1936 would have responded to someone wearing a top that said, "It's ok to be Jewish," and what if any similarity there would be in their respective reactions, and what if anything that means? But of course they wouldn't. That level of self analysis can not happen for them. If it does they're either off the plantation, or, moving up in the hierarchy of racist propagandists.

However, this stuff takes Herculean levels of stupid. What would a Trump supporter have to do, say or believe to reach that level of retardation?

Did these clowns factor that in to their equations on average intellect and threat awareness? Or, are they the same kind of moron who'd say that Democratic and National Socialism are at opposite ends of the political spectrum while they both say and do fundamentally the same crap?

Anyway, that's the end of my rant.

Ps, swan, this is not aimed at you. I'm commenting on the article, not the one who posted it.

Indeed. I will happily say there are idiots that are on my side, and there are idiots that oppose my side. And there are people smarter than me that are on, and not on my side. I don't have to write (or read), academic articles in echo chamber circle jerks detailing all the ways I am superior to those who disagree with me, unlike many of our friends in academia.

But, each to their own. Some people need to feel superior to others, and some just accept that we're all basically muppets in an odd show called life that no one ever seems to watch.

Fighting? Chaski and I have been at each other for over a decade now (damn... 2008 I joined this place). He and I have bickered incessantly and yet he constantly sends me pics of himself in his blue dress... and begs me to do things with him I normally only do with a very special lady friend (except for the thing with the goat. I'll pretty much do that with anyone cos that's the way I roll).

It's all just a bit of fun.

Greeting Mr Bob. Understood.

I'm aware of the fine tradition of public discourse and public debate.

"Friends Romans and Countrymen . . . " Mark Antony

The Great Dictator Charlie Chaplin

The Apostle Paul of the unknown god in Greece Acts 17:23

Lincoln Douglas Debates

Kennedy vs Nixon--the first televised presidential debate

All of that to say it isn't lost on me when I see someone ready at a moments notice to stand and give it their best either to an audience or an opponent. If done well, it will be encouraging and an inspiration to others.

Within the last couple of years, I had to take stock and re-prioritize my life. In as much as I really do want to contribute something to TFS, it won't be by throwing and catching the fiery darts (Ephesians 6:16) at least, not as a matter of course.

You, however, are. It's fun to watch. Grander than fun even.

This is the thing that seems very hard for some on TFS to grasp.
