I would never say this to my family, but one of my favorite times of the year is 10 am on December 26th because all of the Christmas decorations are packed away and it's the longest possible time before I have to drag them back out again.

This is an unpopular opinion, I'm sure, but I cannot stand it. We have SO much and it's everywhere...it takes over the house every year and when my house is out of order it really f***s with me.

I will never say anything about it because I know it makes them happy and is one of their favorite things, so I grin and bear it, but I really wish we could just put up a tree and leave it at that.

Call me a grinch...just being honest.
you take them down on the 26th? I don't really do the 12 days but I like to leave them up till New Years Eve then take them down so i can start the new year afresh.

Do you wish it could be Christmas every day?
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play?

Well, my decorations go up right after Thanksgiving and they are left up until New Year's Day!! I get sick of looking at them after awhile...I love the decor to be very subtle, I also love just a Christmas tree..I guess I am a bit of a Scrooge...Sometimes people get so caught up in decor and food and so on that they tend to forget the real reason people should celebrate--Jesus is the true reason for the season!!

For timing I go old school Christian: Christmas decorations go up with Advent and come down with Epiphany (etiquette, protocol, tradition).

As to lights and decorations: I typically go Lucy (as in Peanuts).

The rest of the stuff was not up as of this picture, but you might be able to imagine the rest.

My sister has the whole advent choreographed into one long party.
