Various events are set in motion in films and the characters involved all do things to affect their outcome.

I wonder though what would have happened if one of, or more of the participants in a scenario did not act as they did. I would like to explore that in this thread.

For example, in the fight between Frank Castle and Gianni Franco, Franco manages to pin down Frank's arm holding a revolver and proceeds to smother him with his other hand while holding him down on the floor in between his knees. Franco's son, Tommy, tries to pull his father off Castle and Franco pushes his son away, releasing his smother hold on Frank. This results in Frank regaining control of the gun and managing to shoot Franco.

The intervention of Tommy enabled Castle to be able to grab the gun and kill Franco. Now, what would have happened if Tommy hadn't intervened? Would Franco have held his smother hold on Castle long enough to kill him, or would Castle have been able to break the smother hold and endure long enough to still kill Franco?

To better aid this particular inquisition, I present to you the fight in question. Please watch from 1:19:34 - 1:20:54

The story line of the movie would flop.

Example: In the movie Alien if the guy had not taken a close up look at the alien egg, or if the crew of the space ship had followed protocol and not brought the guy with alien pupa (I'm guessing its a pupa...maybe a nymph) attached to its face...then the story would have ended.

People do dumb s*** in movies so that the story can continue.

The real question is why don't more people in real life act better.

Would Franco have held his smother hold on Castle long enough to kill him That would be a different story (alternate universe story), but maybe... unless the fate within the story would have found a way to save Castle.

it awhile, I seem this turkey in movie theater. the comic book is much better than the movie.

no, I don't think that if tommy's intervine would have that much difference. frank has ( if I remember right ) has a military seal training, as well as martial arts expert beside. anything his hands is a deadly weapon, he is one of the best seal operative, they ever had.

most so-call fight scene are fair. frank could have playing potassium to get his second wind or working the play against franco.

do the op: anytime in these kind of scenes in the movies, that deals with a child or a woman ( yes, twilite, I agree. )that we would the child or the woman die in the scene. because they annoying ( screaming or in the way of a good killing in the scene.) the audience rooting for them to save the day.

no, of course, I rooting the villain to kill the hero. never happen!

I saw the link, I forgot how bad this movie really was. a stinks!

nothing in the scene, beside very predictable actions that done badly.

frank's behavior that he got the wind knock of him, and go through the panel. that slow him down, not out.

the op's small reference is nothing much something need to be discuss, it pretty obvious what happen.

True enough. Fight choreography is not always very well done and the Punisher is a good example of a very shoddy kind. The fight scenes in the remake, from what I have seen, are way better.

Next example will be Total Recall. More to come...

conflict - I starting understand what driving in this thread.

I can't think a movie scene right off, there are many so-called fight scenes in good movies. are just horrible. you wonder why they waste our time watching them.

for example, in total recall, with Sharon stone. the final scene, Arnold shoot Sharon to death. Arnold said, " the honeymoon is over " .

that was a good weak punch line that funny, it did help the scene.

the best example for these one liners in any movie fight scenes ever made is. james bonds movies- they chronographic and the great bond music together - even turkey of bad one liner is still perfect for the scene.

let think those bad scenes in the movies. I know exactly the kinds, you are talking about.

this is not a bad movie scene example to describe for this thread. this is a good example what I talking about with james bond's fighting scene.

in " never say never again ", james on a long overdue vacation at spa. during, james is there, discovered something odd with another patient.

the scene is james start toinvestigating the other patient. unfortunately, for james, the other patient's killer found out about james. during this scene, the killer is trying to kill james.

during the fight, james is out of his league by the killer. nothing, james does to can stop the killer. james getting his a** kick all over place. all sudden, james discover that never know he had in, and defeat the killer.

I am not referring fight scenes in any movie or tv show. when the hero is fighting an villain or even monster.

let us said, the hero is the hearting chase to capture the villain. why, you are watching a typical normal chase scene.

let us said, the villain shoot at you, because you are the hero. so the villain, you image why he is missing you, any boob, can't miss hitting you. it less than 10 feet away. this guy is missing you by miles. he runs out of bullets, then he throw gun at you.

like when is the last time, you ever see a guy throw a gun at hero, and the gun knock him out.

or, if you are chase by a monster, and point blank , you shoot all your bullets with your pistol in the monster's chest. the monster not even faze by this. why would you throw your gun at him. the gun bounce off the monster's chest. that didn't stop him or slow him down.

what you have a dumb face on, and you shock that gun should have stop him.

what planet, did you came from? DUH!
