I totally agree that it is not logical to try and raise kids now days without a home computer . To do so would be setting a kid back 3 or 4 decades, behind their peers in school and later in the work force.
I gave my oldest grand daughter her first computer when she was 9 , she's 13 now , This last xmas I gave my younger grand kids ages 8 and 10 a laptop to share . (The older one has a different mom , different address then the younger ones .)

I raised my kids with no TV or computer . But that was 30 years ago . Times are not the same in any way form or fashion .

I brought my granddaughters who's nearly 2 a tablet for her first birthday. I got it because there's so many learning apps now for pre-school kids.
We sit and learn things like colours etc each day on it.
I'm proud to say although she's not yet two she can count to 12, take away small amounts and she knows all her colours. We're currently working on reading basic words.

I read it and was very relieved to learn that I'm not addicted to the net. It says right there that if you feel bad or guilty about the amount of time you spend on the net but don't do anything abut changing then your addicted. And so since I don't feel bad or guilty abut that , I must not be addicted . right ?

Actually it's a pretty interesting and informative rd. There are teenagers that spend as much as 31 hours a week on line . That's the same amount of time teenagers use to spend working part time after school .

I'm not that into the internet as I used to be. I think I am on there possibly 5-10 hours less now.
