I think people dislike Aussie rules because they aren't sensible enough to understand the game,I lived in England for 37 years and fully understand Soccer,Rugby league & Rugby union,I have been living in Australia for 40 odd years & I fully understand Aussie Rules and whilst i admit Soccer has more skills I have no doubts whatever that Aussie rules is the most exciting game in the world from a spectators point of view.....18 players pretending they aren't injured, whilst at soccer you have 11 players all pretending They ARE injured.

I personally dont subscribe to the view that soccer is a more skillful game than Aussie Rules. Certainly you need different skills playing soccer compared to Aussie Rules...different but not greater.

I do agree that if you dont understand the rules and the nuances of Aussie Rules then you are much less likely to enjoy watching the sport.

"18 players pretending they aren't injured, whilst at soccer you have 11 players all pretending They ARE injured'
That is on the money and the constant simulation and game-playing in soccer can at times really kill the enjoyment of watching a match.
