In a world where folks want to be insulted, the high school in Thermal, Califonria may change its mascot. The Arabic themed activities in Riverside County and around Indio, California have existed for at least 60 years. My grandparents tell of going to the Date Festival where people dressed like Ali Baba, danced like Morgiana, and raced camels.

But quoth the ghastly, grim, and grimy raven, "Nevermore."

I might describe the mascot as fierce, something like a character in Arabian Nights.
