Except some counties have 2,000 people and other counties have 2,000,000 people. It would tell you more if it were weighted by population instead of landmass.

The last time a Republican got the number of electoral votes as Obama was 1988.

Out of the last 6 presidential elections, the Republcan has only won the popular vote once.
