I used to be a "Goth" in my younger years, but after having a family (which i love dearly) i am losing my "Goth" lifestyle. its so hard walking into the school dressed in elegant black dresses or old-school glam-punk. you get looked down upon by the other mums. i've found myself buying the latest catalogue fashions. what can i do to keep myself true to who i am without getting judged?

You shouldn't be letting what those other mums think get to you

If that's the way that you want to dress, that's your business and not theirs, you shouldn't have to dress like them because you feel you're being looked down on.

Be yourself

Other mums are always going to be looking down on you, it's what they do.

They're spiteful, vapid women with cars that use far too much petrol and can
hold far too many children.

My advice? Shove it in their faces. Be who you are.
Give your hair pink streaks and put it in a mohawk.
Scare the daylights out of their kids with excessive make up.

Everything which being a goth is coming into play now darling, you're really
standing out from the crowd

there's always gonna be some people that judge you on your appearance, maybe just go with a bit of a toned down version to start with, so you can feel confident in school, which is really important.

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to say something anyhows.

I have had quite a few odd looks at my sons school. I am certainly not in the "coffee morning" circle of mums at the gate either, but to be honest i don't give a monkeys bottom. I tend to jjust dress in cloaths I like, and sometimes, they can be a bit odd lol but if thats what I am happy in then siod what other people think. And if any of them want to look down on me becasue I have a few tattoos and a few bits of metal in my face, I couldn't really care. I like how I am and i am not planning on changing.

My ponit is, that you shouldn't change wht you where to suit the pther mums. just make sure you be yourself and be happy
