There are some really good social media sites out there that are good for free advertising. Start with creating a facebook fanpage and leave links back to your website. Twitter about your website and what it is about(product / business). Create a blogger, join linkedIn, flickr, YouTube, reddit. The list of good social media sites goes on, the ones I mentioned are good ones to start with. Just remember to catch peoples interest and be sure to post links back to your site for easy access.
