"If it's not Mcafee, i don't touch it!"

I don't touch it. Did i say "you shouldn't touch it"?

That seemed to me to be your recommendation.

It doesn't matter anyway. If you were recommending that to other people, it's bad advice. If you were not, then forget about it.

I'm useless when it comes to computer problems! I had a problem with an old computer that it took 8 tech guys 3 days to help me fix. They'd get annoyed and pass me off to somebody else

Thank god for Tech guys. If i have issues i just submit a "trouble ticket" and some IT guy who lives and breathes these things comes up and fixes my problem (which is usually user created). Thankfully i never do anything complicated enough on my home computer to cause any problems. If i did, i always have Dell support (for another year at least)

You are quite right in reporting this. It is one of the most dangerous Virus threats at the moment. DO NOT be tempted to download if this Anti virus 2009 comes on a page or an Email. It will uninstall all your programmes and may even possibly hack into your passwords.

I got a warning a couple days ago that there were viruses and malware on my PC. I didn't pay attention to the name of it because I was multitasking. Then I think I clicked on it to close it out, but it installed on my desktop. I deleted it. Shortly after that, my avast notified me that a virus was detected. I moved it to the chest. It's the paid version and I'm hoping it caught the virus(es).

Personally, I use Avast Antivirus. It's free, it works great, It's got a real-time protection scanner, updates itself as soon as new databases are released (instead of on a schedule), and it also gives you personalization options. Never had a problem with it, and it's blocked alot of malicious activity.

I'm multilayered. I'm using AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, Iobit Security 360, and Sygate Firewall. All are free, and nothing gets through all of that. If you are happy with your security, don't be hoodwinked by any email by a company you don't recognize!

Download the freeware version of Malwarebytes and use it to regularly scan your computer and never worry about malware again. McAfee is worthless s***.

I have used malwarebytes on my home computer since they loaded it on my work computer to get rid of a trojan that about 20 people in the firm got from a firm e-mail. They said it's one of the best for that, and it found over 200 malware items on my parents' computer, but since then, they've been in good shape.

Crap I think that's the virus that my PC had a month or so ago. We had to completely reformat the drives and reinstall Windows XP, was a nightmare. I think AVG is always a good antivirus, works fine for me.
