I was reading in a newspaper report this morning that a survey has shown that women are choosing partners by how much they bring home.

Those who are on welfare such as unemployed/disability benefits don't stand a hope in hell. Those earning between $30K - $70K have some chance but very little.

Survey results found that a high majority of the women surveyed will only consider forming a relationship with a man who earns a minimum of $70K.

Thought I'd see how the women of TFS respond to this one.

That's insane! But at least the men who don't make a lot don't have to worry about landing one of those nut jobs. Sheesh.

When I first came to the US, before I met Peanut, I dabbled with Yahoo dating (yeah I know, sad) in an attempt to meet people.

The number of women that had $100k+ as their required income were ridiculous. And they had it as a non-negotiable point. Oh how I laughed and laughed, and moved on to the women with no salary expectations. Whatever my salary, I do not want it to be thing at the forefront of a woman's mind!!!

I'd rather marry a man I love deeply, personally for me, salary has nothing to do with it.

It reminded me of my days of political involvement where you could see small packs of women smelling out those of wealth to shack up with.

I was sitting with a few mates where one of these packs of women saw as their future superannuation policy.

So I said to them; He's unemployed, he's got a girl friend and I'm a postal worker.

They walked off to the next table of fella's who keenly shouted them booze.

Well im not a lady but I still choose men, and my personal opinion is, all a guy has to do to impress me is take me to McDonalds, a movie, and show that he loves me in order for me to love him back.

It really doesnt matter the amount of his income because Ive neve really been comfortable accepting gifts anyway, so the level of income is irrelivant.

i'm not a girl.....but depending on the guys age, i would think income would have to be consider at least a little bit.

i mean, i would expect most high school and college guys to be broke.....but if your in your 40's or 50's or something, and don't have s*** to show, it could mean that you're lazy and have no ambitions.

of course there is always exceptions, ignore me i'm talking out of my ass.

you have got a point though, i mean if a 30 year old guy has nothing more then debt to show then i wouldnt want to get into that, when i was in my older guy thing i at least wanted someone with a stable job and some kind of goals or something

I agree with Intox...I'm not going to settle down and start a family with somebody that can't even support themselves well. However, it would be absurd to start a relationship based mostly on income.
