What did he do that we would not expect from other Republican presidents?

Be impeached

The oncoming president is pretty much acting as the anti-Trump; anything Trump did has to be undone so, therefore, stop the wall (or whatever).

Funny, I've seen several examples where Biden is not different from Trump ... or did you forget Afghanistan?

Alaska drilling ...

It is not as severe as trump throwing his anti-President Obama fits - going so far as reversing support for feeding school children.

I agree with all these points.

I think the lesson to be learned here is that rhetoric designed to appeal to the unsavvy can result in things like the Jan 6 protests. It appeals to the emotions and leads the intellect gullible on a purely illogical path. It affords it's inventor with power over the masses. Now just need to figure out who was talking through Trump's head.

No one.

Trump ran through advisors like diarrhoea. There were so many good people who took the axe or somehow got canned or straight up quit.

I'm still upset about General Mattis.

My point here is that he was determined to do what he wanted. No one can be blamed for Trump's choices but Trump. He was no puppet for sure.

And probably many of those advisors were canned because they too would not be puppets.

What happened to "I only hire the best and the brightest" ?

In previous decades I've listened to interviews with a dozen of "moderate" Democrats who would make great leaders.

Also, the GOP needs to remember that reaching out in compromise will be looked upon with disdain.

George W Bush was laughed at for his "Compassionate Conservative" initiative. Why do we care if Hitler loved dogs when he's still Hitler.

What made Trump such a volatile leader for the GOP was that he didn't apologize for his existence. In that sense, he assumed of himself in the same way his enemies assumed of themselves.

Saying that "the GOP needs to remember that reaching out in compromise will be looked upon with disdain" is not different in function to the Left's attitudes towards the Right which you label as being indicative of unintelligent ideology.

What does the Republican party stand for?

It is my opinion that the existential threat of man-made climate change simply is not. I say this is my opinion because I am failing to produce the needed response that the mass media is hoping for. People aged 30 and younger typically poll deeply concerned over this issue. And that is by design.

We are being groomed by mass media and political elites to be afraid of climate change and it’s effects in the same way that Michael Jackson groomed families with young boys.

Who knows if climate change hurts me now. Who knows if it ever will. I will withhold any further judgement as I don’t see the evidence.

I will continue to vote for politicians who take a commonsense approach on being good stewards of the community I live in. I am much more concerned about striking a balance between sugarcane farmers and the tourist industry in Florida. Keep up the amazing work DeSantis.

If the world is going to be destroyed by man-made climate change then there is absolutely nothing that you or I or anyone else can do about it. At that point I would treat it like a pending strike from an astroid or a meteor or comet coming to destroy the planet. It will just happen and there will be nothing done about it save intervention from God.

The last president who could have been found guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors was president Nixon. Nixon left office because he knew that partisan politics could have been set aside and that a majority could have convicted the president. Mitch McConnell is attempting to be a pragmatist when he states that Joe Biden will not be removed from office. Essentially stating the same thing that I said but in a much shorter way. We don’t have enough Republicans in office to try and convict and remove Biden for current events. Mitch McConnell is acting like a Republican. The Democrats knew that they didn’t have enough votes to try and convict and remove Trump from office they did not stop them from performing “impeachment” twice.

The problem with the Republicans is that they have a leftover vision from the 80s of imputing trust into their elected officials. Believe it or not I’m old enough to remember that many Americans even wanted their elected officials to be “trustworthy“. Some of the Republicans believe that you have to be educated and make wise choices for the good of the American people. This is apparently a giant waste of time as the Democrats are showing us that the most incoherent and primitive-minded partisan hacks can be given control. I would not trust Nancy Pelosi to run a taco stand and I would not trust Joe Biden with a shift schedule at that same taco stand and yet they can spending trillions and trillions of dollars for their constituents with no good results and that makes them good leaders apparently.

'The Republicans have legitimate reasons for never compromising with or voting for a Dem, but the Dems are sheep and only vote for Dems because they're ideologically blind'. And you don't see the absurdity in holding such a position?

If the GOPers were in the majority, they'd vote lock-step YES to increase the debt limit. Because no one is allowed to think for themselves, they MUST VOTE THE PARTY LINE. - and of course, they can't let the gov't default on their watch.

As you can see, some independent-thinking Democrats have their own ideas.
This is also why Obamacare became so watered-down and pork-filled.

What we are dealing with is not the Republican Party or the Democratic Party, it's people in both parties working together to sabotage democracy.

All you have to do is compare Gingrich to Pelosi. Is Pelosi better at wrangling her people? Is she better at getting her way and taking advantage of crisis?

She's done everything but put horse heads in the beds of her opponents. Today, that counts as a "winning strategy." We've been played and continue to be played.

I just read on the internet that Congress is slashing funding for the rescue of Americans still trapped in Afghanistan to ensure there's enough triple-ply gold-leaf tissue paper for the the transgender bathrooms at the Kennedy Center.

I just read that.

***EDIT***

The Joke is on you Nancy! There isn't a Democrat alive (or dead!) who would vote for anyone like JFK today. So, just keep propping that place up with the money you print as a testament to the president your party once agreed with (kinda).
