Ok if you insist, I'll elaborate. To take over a country you need to create a revolution. To create a revolution people must be unhappy with their government. To make people unhappy with their government you must get the government to do things that make them unhappy. To make the government do things that make people unhappy you must control the government or at least enough of it to make people unhappy.
So, you create a faction that ignores the environment, reinforces systemic racism, taxes the poor, does stupid things on the international stage and etc.
You also create an opposition group(s) that offer an alternative, in this case socialism. You sell socialism in the universities and on the street. Some day when your movement gets enough following, stimulated by the same s*** you have the government you control doing, you can stage a coup. It might be violent revolution or it might be through voting. Then you own the government outright.
Socialism is to the left.
Republicans are to the right.
Thus "socialist republicans" does not make sense; there literally cannot be a "socialist republican".
In addition since socialism is to the left, a socialist wouldn't be pushing things to the right (even if he/she could somehow be a republican and a socialist)... the socialist would be pushing things to the left.
Now, republicans are in fact trying "to push things so far right"... but that is their nature....
"Why?"
>>> because they are not socialists <<<
So, again, your phrase didn't make sense.
