I thought I'd start a little thread where anybody can post the ironies that occur when you get what you wished for. This is not restricted to Brexit, even though that is where the majority of "getting what you wished for" is being visited on increasing numbers of people.

British Ex-Pats living in Spain are furious when they find out that a national vote to end their own freedom of movement results in the loss of their freedom of movement.

The tragedy is that some of the first to suffer are the folk of Northern Ireland, who voted to Remain in the EU in the Referendum. They now face the empty supermarket shelves and the reality that the rest of the UK now trades with them as virtually a foreign country.

52 Not Guilty votes on the Abuse of Power
53 Not Guilty votes on the Obstruction of Congress

And a year later ...

Death in the halls of Congress.

Oh Look!
the trumpsterf*** joined in

President Trump began remarks at the border wall sending what sounds like a warning to Congress saying, “The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration – as the expression goes, be careful what you wish for.”

Well he's right as far as the 25th being zero risk to himself. Pence and the GOP have already started back peddling.

Not surprising... not at all.

I think this moment in history has been a wake up call to a lot of Americans. We always felt so secure in our little homes and never thought America could EVER sink to a level where so many of it's citizens would we wooed by a wannabe Dictator who is hellbent on turning this country upside down. Now, we know our Democracy is very fragile and we could end up like the Roman Empire if we do not act and work hard to get us back on track.

If any good comes out of this mess, it will be that people who normally sat on the sidelines now realize the risks we face if we just stand idly by and do not work hard to preserve what we have had for 200+ years. People are pissed at seeing those idiots in DC attacking and threatening the Capital. Never did we ever think we would see this on American soil, and Putin is laughing his a** off at what his stooge Trump has caused.

Brexit Fishing Firms Take Their Anger To London

And with his usual disregard for the anger, suffering and damage to people's livelihoods that he's caused, Boris Johnson, rather than accept responsibility, or even offer the fishermen some hope, has dismissed their demonstration by blaming THEM for all their ills, saying that they should "learn to fill the customs forms in properly".

The Tories will never take responsibility for their actions.

Well, at least here he is acknowledging that there are forms to fill in!

But don't you just know that within a week he is likely to say that Brexit has caused no additional paperwork to anybody.

He tells a lie today. He forgets that lie tomorrow and replaces it with another, different lie. Yesterday's lie doesn't count any more.
