I would like to put it on the record that I have NEVER worn pink socks.

Sure... but I bet you've worn pink flip flops.

Boo-f***ing-Hoo
I have little sympathy for maskholes.

The only good that may come of this is a few maskholes may come around before they spread the disease to others.

...Or maybe it's just a ploy and the Deep State is paying him millions to act this way to further promote this covid conspiracy.

Full lockdown throughout the UK at the moment. Only essential shops open. We are allowed out once a day for specific reasons. No mixing.

I use my "ration" by combining essential shopping, exercise and mental health. Take-aways can still to be had, so I usually find a bench to drink a coffee, weather permitting.

I take a bit of bird seed with me just in case a pigeon joins me. I see other shoppers and dog walkers. Quite a few puppies appearing.

The vaccines are being rolled out slowly but - hopefully - surely.

Keep safe.

We probably should be locked down.

But we aren’t.

Not really

We just getting sick and dying instead.

And getting very angry about it.

But we just have to go out and celebrate the Browns first playoff appearance in 18 years.

And Ohio State ...er ... THE Ohio State University Buckeyes are playing for the college national championship!

Chris Whitty, the UK's Chief Medical Officer, has now become the Face of the Pandemic. His face is seen on TV time and time again. Some suggest this is simply because of lack of trust in our current Govt and its leaders and spokepeople!! Maybe people will listen to him! Mr Whitty continually appeals for people to respect the rules of the Lockdown. Once again, some suggest this is simply to divert blame from the Govt for its handling of the Pandemic so far. We can start blaming ourselves! Let's get angry with each other!

(I say "some"........I lost trust in our current gang of incompetents long ago, and blame goes back over ten years of underfunding for our Care Services)

More here:-

Hey, let us blame ourselves!

Update on the UK situation:-

Confusion over exactly what the rules are! (Who would believe it, given that our PM is notorious for being unconcerned with details) We must only exercise "close to home". How near is "close"? Answer, we must decide "within our own minds". Apparently this covers Boris Johnson, seen cycling seven miles away from Downing Street. In his own mind, I presume, this was close enough. A police fine dealt out to two young ladies, having a walk five miles from home, has now been rescinded, and their Starbucks coffee now deemed not a "picnic". This is all true. Believe me.

When in town I have seen the usual homeless. Tents in shop doorways, sleeping bags, and one guy stretched out on a bench covered with his (I hope warm) sleeping bag. Some tell me they are cadgers who "go home in a taxi at night" after being plied with MacDonald's Burgers and coffees during the day. One mate of mine simply says that they should get a job, "like the rest of us." Anyway, this guy on the bench troubled me. The bench is just yards away from a shop doorway where one homeless guy was actually found dead about a year ago. Yesterday I left him a bag of goodies without disturbing his slumbers. Today, the bag seemed untouched, there was light rain, yet still he lay unmoving. I tried to get the attention of a security guard at a nearby store but "nothing to do with us" and when I said I would contact the police to check on the guy the security guard simply said that they would "not be interested, they don't want to know." Anyway, I eventually checked by asking the guy on the bench loudly, "Are you OK?" Eventually he stirred and said he was. So that's OK then.

During the first Lockdown there was some sort of scheme whereby people were taken off the street and housed. It appears there is no such scheme this time. So I suppose the claim that the general public are not taking this second lockdown as seriously as the first extends to our Government. Maybe we just have to decide "within our own minds"?

One of the vaccine making companies (sorry I forgot which one) said that the vaccine will be needed every year.

So with the speed of the vaccine roll out and my level of health, which puts me at the bottom of the list to get the vaccine, then factoring in that all the 1st responders, most vulnerable people... basically everyone but me... will start getting the vaccine again at some point...

...I'm going to end up like Sisyphus rolling his boulder up a hill only for it to roll down every time it neared the top...

...each time I get close, the line will start all over again...

...I'm guessing I'll never get the vaccine.

A guess is as good as it gets these days. A combination of over-information, misinformation, Newspeak and outright lies from our "leaders" is a veritable tangle that is virtually impossible to decipher.

The new Mantra in the UK is "When The Vaccine Rolls Out", which while not quite up there with Namu-amida-butsu, does seem to have its efficacy.

In the beginning our first vaccine (a "Global British" triumph developed by a Turkish guy in Germany, produced in Belgium and validated under then current EU regulations) definitely needed a booster after three weeks, then as logistical problems hit, the first jab became 90-95% effective, either as a suppressor of symptoms OR preventative entirely depending upon your source.

Now we have the mutant strains of the virus. "Oh yes, this is usual, all viruses mutate, which is why we need to have a different vaccine each year for flu"......but, ooops..." don't worry, the current vaccines should still work for Covid". So we are told.

Anyway Chaski, I can assure you that you will definitely receive your jab in 2171, August 3rd., morning appointment. Whether this is true, misinformation or an outright lie is for you to decide.

(Sometimes I envy the Dark Ages serf. Just so long as you grovelled appropriately as the Lord of the Manor rode by you could live relatively happily)

Keep safe.

Truth or deceit it is a flicker of hope here in Saṃsāra.

I shall embrace it with all my heart, longing and attachment.

Let me give some of you an insider's view of this virus............a month ago, I tested positive and two weeks later I tested negative. The two weeks, when I had it were the worst I have had in my life, and I have survived a quadruple bypass and other illnesses in my life. This thing was indescribable.

No one on the planet took more steps to avoid getting it than me. I quit my job last Spring, when the s*** hit the fan, I stayed home and only went to my hobby shop where I was alone all day, I wore a mask constantly when out, and only went quickly to the grocery store every few days for the food I needed. I kept cans of hand sanitizer everywhere, even in my car, and I took every precaution I could to avoid other people.

On a Wednesday I started feeling like a cold was coming on, so on Thursday I went to my regular Physician who gave me a Z pack that I took for the next 5 days. That Saturday, my son had to go have a Covid test because his work required it, so I went and got one too. I TESTED POSITIVE !!!!!! So did my son, but thank God, he only suffered a dry cough and no other symptoms until he tested negative two weeks later.

Until the next Tuesday, I felt pretty good, but then the s*** hit the fan and I got sick as I have ever been in my life. For two nights I thought I was going to die, and only stayed away from going to the hospital because I felt that would be where I would die. My temperature ran about 101.8 and I felt like a truck had backed over me. When I tried to get some sleep I would lay there for what seemed like hours, but when I looked at the clock 5 minutes had passed. Those were some very long nights.

Finally, on Thursday, I started to feel somewhat better and my temp came down into the 99.5 range and stayed there. Over the next week I began to feel somewhat better but I had no desire to eat or drink, so I had to force myself to do it.

Two weeks later I felt better, but still had no taste or smell, and went back for my retest.........it turned out negative this time !

So, sorry for the lengthy post, but I want to pass along that YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET THIS THING, it is the sickest I have ever been in my life and I thought it was all over. When I saw people traveling and socializing for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, I shook my head. I took every precaution I could, and it still got me. I think the only thing that lessened my symptoms was the Z pack I took at the onset. My ex is an RN, and she feels that was what helped.

Thanks for the insight. Glad you made it through.

That's the scary thing about it. Some only get mild symptoms, or none. While others die within 24hrs of first symptoms, and others linger for days or weeks.

When this first started boiling over, I figured we'd all come into contact with it one way or another over the next 18 months or so.

So far, I know of 5 family members that got it. One was in real bad shape, two were bad "Flu-like", and two more, I just found out about in the past week or so.
One is in healthcare and got the vax, then tested positive 10 days later.

Thank you for the good wishes. How I came away as easily as I did (not dying) is beyond me. This is one weird, evil sickness. I think one thing that might have helped me was last March, while I was still working, about 7 people at my job all got violently sick the same week and they were off from work for about a week or more. Every day my job would call me and ask if I could come in, even though I was not scheduled, and I went in during that time almost every day.

We sprayed the entire place with Lysol and , even though the Coronavirus was not known yet, we knew something was different. Finally, after about a week or so, I got sick and was home for about a week myself. I think what lessened the impact on me was that I also took a Z pack back then too, just like I took this past December. My Doctor says that drug would have no impact on the Coronavirus, but my ex, who is an experienced RN, says differently.

All I know is, I would wish this thing on no one, it is as bad as I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

the zpac doesnt do anything to the rona, but its not actually the rona that seems to do the most damage. I mean its the cause, as in if you didnt have it you would be fine, but it gets in your system and *f***s s*** up* then other bacterial stuff that is normally not a problem, takes over and before you know you have pneumonia because your lungs are filled with fluid and that makes it hard to breathe.

so who knows the zpac may have fought off the bacteria enough to give you a better chance. That the part that sucks about novel virus no time to investigate that stuff. The sheer volume of people dying as we "try out" things is staggering. Individually, im all for trying everything and anything. We don't even understand the placebo effect enough to know when to rule it out, but if it safes a life from suffering from this, do it.

I am glad to hear you are doing better, this disease is just awful.
