Judge Matthew Brann, a longtime and well-known Republican in Pennsylvania:

“Plaintiffs (Trump) ask this Court to disenfranchise almost seven million voters. This Court has been unable to find any case in which a plaintiff has sought such a drastic remedy in the contest of an election, in terms of the sheer volume of votes asked to be invalidated. One might expect that when seeking such a startling outcome, a plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption, such that this Court would have no option but to regrettably grant the proposed injunctive relief despite the impact it would have on such a large group of citizens.

That has not happened. Instead, this Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations, unpled in the operative complaint and unsupported by evidence. In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state. Our people, laws, and institutions demand more. At bottom, Plaintiffs have failed to meet their burden to state a claim upon which relief may be granted. Therefore, I grant Defendants’ motions and dismiss Plaintiffs’ action with prejudice.

I guess Trump got tired of winning.

Maybe this should be in the "walk away" thread.

Holy s*** -dismissed with prejudice. I didn’t catch that part before.

(I’m still kinda picky on a lot of my news intake for my sanity so I get a general gist and look up specifics usually from source rather than media. Might as well keep the librarian skills sharp as I’m doing less random reference in the pandemic)

That’s like the opposite of the “strategy” I’ve been hearing be my “friends”. Or it’s ok if he loses in the lower courts he can appeal to the Supreme Court and Amy,m and brett will save him.

But prejudice makes that impossible.

f***. I Got that confused.... never mind my last post you can appeal prejudice. You just can’t re-file it, at the same court level.

The plan is still to have the trump appointed Supreme Court give him the Presidency.

Snd from the same judge,

“You're alleging that the two individual plaintiffs were denied the right to vote. But at bottom, you're asking this court to invalidate more than 6.8 million votes, thereby disenfranchising every single voter in the Commonwealth. Could you tell me how this result could possibly be justified?"

Apparently the Trump team didn’t have a good answer.

And the deal with the two individuals was they didn't get a chance to correct their ballot to make it legitimate. Probably something about matching signatures and snail mail.

So it wasn't denying a right, it was a procedural issue.

But the two voters were God & Jesus... so it makes a huge difference... but they should have voted in person.

Though one wonders why the Holy Spirit didn't vote.

Someone on my timeline pointed out: some of these are the same people that still can’t accept the south lost the civil war, and isn’t going to rise again. Do you really think they ar going to accept the loss of the their boy? Just as we keep seeing confederate flags, we’ll keep seeing trump flags even though each only lasted four years.

Michigan has certified.

Yes. The two democrats voting for certificate were not surprising.

The one Republican voting for certification was a small sign of hope that Republicans can pull their heads out of their asses.

The one Republican who obtained from voting... well he is a pathetic coward. If he honestly believed the vote should not have been certified, he should have voted that way. It is more likely, however, that he knew that vote should be certified, but wanted some out with his friends and/or family. Cowardice. But not at all surprising.

I had a friend who used to laugh when people would say, "The South's gonna do it again!"

He would reply with, "What... lose again!"

Actually many GOP election officials and state officials have come out vocal against Trump’s shenanigans. But it’s a few like the two in Michigan (one at the county level and one at the state level) that wish to join his fabricated bulls*** rather than do what they are typically assigned to do.

But most of the cowards are the ones cowering in DC while all those state/local officials get hammered with threats and worse for doing their job. Yes, a few in Washington are starting to come out from hiding, but only now that it is clear and safer to do so.

Thank god it is too. With the Michigan state and PA county certifications today along with the GSA green light, it’s over for Trump.

Time for his last firing in showing Giuliani the door. Didn’t work.

Regarding Trump's legal efforts to claim election fraud:

"This is like Bush v. Gore, but replace James Baker with the editor of a QAnon subreddit.

It's not competent lawyering.

There are strategic errors, typographical errors — every kind of error you can make in a case.

It's as dysfunctional a litigation strategy as I've ever seen."

But... but... Trump knows all the best people...
