Ok, ok.... I know, you've only just had one election and it's four years until the next one, but I saw this in a Facebook Group (Rejoin The EU) and it got me thinking.

Now... my first impressions of Joe Biden have been very good. I suppose NOT being Donald Trump is enough to make him look good before he even opens his mouth, but nonetheless I think he's made an impressive start.

My comment is, that I've always felt good about Nancy Pelosi. Perhaps she might have made a better President than Joe Biden, although being a woman it's unlikely she'd have won the election... I get that.... and of course, Joe will get his shot at a second term in '24... I get that too.... but do you all think she might make a good candidate in '28...? Would she be likely to still be around..?

Who knows that the political climate in US will be in 8 years, but FFS... it can't possibly be more febrile than it is now.

It's just something that came into my thoughts as I read her message. Comments anybody..?

PS.... You tell 'em Nancy... Ya don't mess with the GFA.

Maybe it's not will Nancy Pelosi still be around (in eight years time) but will Joe Biden still be around for a second term. Even one full term might be stretching it. I do wish him well but I have to wonder.

Then of course there is Kamala Harris. Could be she will make her mark, even a very goodmark. I hope so.

As I see it the Democrats have plenty of options, a wider "fan" base, more open to moving on, taking on board new ideas.

Meanwhile, the GOP appear stuck. If not Donald Trump, who? Who is there to carry his core support, unyeilding, but who could also begin to appeal beyond it? Well, I don't really know America enough to identify any possibility.

Biden will probably not run in 2024. I suppose it will be Harris.

I figure pelosi probably won’t either. She’s pretty powerful where she is. I don’t know that she’s ever made any hints she wants the presidency. As speaker of The house She is third in line though.

I was thinking the same thing about Joe.
May be a good set up for a 12 year Dem run. 4 for Joe and then 8 for Kamala.

The GOP had some viable candidates that I would have considered 4 and 8 years ago. But between Mitch and trump, and the spineless silence of the rest of the party, I don't know if I'll ever vote for a GOPer again - at any level.

I’m an independent and have voted both sides several times. Currently, though, I’ve been voting Democrat across the board because the GOP has gone crazy and are destroying us. Once we get some balance back and some urgent matters resolved, though, I may end up voting third party because there are some things that I never fully agreed with the Democrats on. I don’t ever foresee myself voting GOP again though. They are simply not the party they were before W, much less Trump.

Yeah, that was one of the things that ran around in my head when the idea occurred to me. If she's considered good enough to be that close to the "throne" (I'm British. Indulge me in that one. lol) she would be considered a serious contender.

I think a female president would be a major breakthrough for USA. Yuriko Koike could become the first in Japan too. Plenty of European nations, Australia, New Zealand (Jacinta Arden has done a great job and has just been re-elected with a landslide majority), and around 60 other countries have been there and done that. Ursula van der Leyen heads the EU, It seems a little odd to me that a major democracy like US has never had one.

Four years from now could be the time.

As far as Pelosi, she is very powerful where she is at. She is the face of the opposition to Trump, which was needed. She is too old to run for President at this point. It will be Kamala. If Biden doesn’t finish his term, though, there is a chance.

Kamala would make a fine President too.

Kamala with black vote as potus, and warren with experience and white vote as vp.

2024, joe perfect crown achievement to retirement as a two term president in a politician lifetime. He will be early 80's.

2024, bozo will be in prison cell that al capone was in.
