ahh lol. I've spent that past like 2 weeks trying to explain to people on fb and twitter that trump isnt the reason the price of gas at the pump has been so low....!

You are right.

The reason gas is low is that the USA is no longer dependent on foreign oil.

Trump did not do that.

That, the push for oil independence, started with the 1st President Bush and carried through Clinton, Bush and Obama. At the end of Obama's 8 years the USA was at 85% oil independence. Trump just road the wave (as he did relative to unemployment & the economic growth).

And there are many other factors as well.

Oh... and no need to apologize to me ever. I'm a d***, but a kind hearted well meaning d***... or something like that...

Brexit was exciting. I especially was amused watching the news after it passed, all those people saying with regret "I didn't think my vote counted". I dont know uk politics enough to have an opinion as to whether i agree with the choice or not, but most of my friends from the commonwealth seem to think it wasnt the best idea.

I believe that voting should be compulsory.

Example: Let's say there are only two choices for President; Mr. A and Ms. B.

Every citizen of the USA must pick one of the following options:
1. Mr. A
2. Ms. B
3. I don't care/have no opinion/have no faith in the system/think it is stupid BS/etc
4. Write in candidate.

If you don't vote, you get one of the following punishments:
1. 260 hours community service, served 5 hours every Saturday for 1 year.
2. You driver's license is suspended for 1 year.
3. If you are due a tax refund you lose it.
4. If you are due to pay taxes, you must pay $1000 or 3 times the the amount due if it is more than $1000.
5. and something else I haven't determined yet.

6. If you fail to vote in 4 consecutive presidential elections, your status as a citizen of the USA for the rest of your life.

etc

I tend to agree, but would like "None of the above" to be on each voting card as a legitimate option. Also, compulsory voting would surely be some sort of bastion against voter suppression.

However, I also think the turnout percentage, when voluntary, can offer some sort of indicator of apathy towards current institutions or whatever. Alarm bells if it just keeps going down?

I was particularly pissed off with my brother. After spending the entire Referendum Campaign telling me he was not going to bother voting as he "couldn't care less" he told me that in fact he changed his mind at the last minute and voted "Leave" simply to give Dave Cameron (the UK PM at the time) a "black eye", presuming "Stay" would easily win. So he negated my vote.

Anyway, my brother lives in Scotland, so we could soon be living in different countries!

Brexit? No, not a good idea.

None of the above would be good.

If the majority voted “none of the above”, ‘we’ would have to start the process again... of course we’d need an interim government system as you can’t just let the last guy stay in power.

I'm not every sure low gas prices and low interest rates are necessarity a measure of economic health.

Though I also have seen a lot of the FB posts of recording the price of gas and interests rates to see if biden can do better.
Mostly i want to c*** punch them, because they are missing the point...but fb has been making me a little angry lately so I have been having to unfollow people and stop reading s***. people are being way more stupid than i can deal with.

I read that if you don't do your census every 10 years. If you don't apply, then go to court pay fine or jail or both.

This for a mandatory voting for everyone. This above will apply. All ballots must be mail in or absentee ballots. No longer early or election day voting.

Eliminate election day, that no voting, just counting ballots only.

Dear Mr 45,

If you care even one iota about AOC, you are an idiot.

Also, does your wife love you as much as the newly elected president's wife loves him? I doubt it. Does she even love him?

You you love your children as much as the newly elected president loves his children? I doubt it.

Do you love anyone besides the man in the mirror? I doubt it.

Signed,
I am glad I am not your sorry pathetic ass.

Proud Boys “Tactical” Leader: “We will no longer cuck to the left by appointing token negroes as our leaders. We will no longer allow homosexuals or other ‘undesirables’ into our ranks. We will confront the Zionist criminals who wish to destroy our civilization.”

So you're saying if Trump wants a coup (or in his world, thwart a coup), he's at least got the proud boys on his side?

Not much of a fan of Doctor Who, but he (or she!) once said:-

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views.
