This complaint of Moon's is a little late... slow on the draw...
And, NO American leadership is NOT imperative if other countries are going to help limit pollution and the risk of global climate change.
Trump has presented one clear and factual thing to the world (the only factual thing he has ever presented to anyone anywhere).
>>> The rest of the world does not need the USA for anything. The rest of the world needs to forget about American "leadership" and move on. We are living in the post American Age. <<<
The sooner the rest of the world accepts that, the sooner the rest of the world can work together to solve the geo-political, social, environmental, etc... problems of the world.
"WE" Americans are not the answer.
I think economic and military clout will always be the basis of one form of leadership.
Not wishing my life away, but I'm glad in many ways that I'm almost out of it. I can now afford to look at China and see the Tang poets, the Ch'an Buddhists, Confucius and the Tao Te Ching; look at the USA and hear Walt Whitman, think of Dylan and Springsteen.
Recently I was reading an article by a Mafia expert and he very seriously asserted that the UK (particularly London) was the most corrupt place on earth. "Corrupt" has many meanings, but he was talking about money laundering and other financial villainies. All due to get worse post Brexit, when free of all the new Tax Directives being initiated by the EU. Yet another reason why the power brokers and money men were keen on Brexit.
Maybe one place to look for leadership is the young. I'm encouraged when I look at the latest artwork of my grandchildren. The stick people are always smiling, the sun more often than not in the sky. It means a lot. Sadly, I've seen pictures drawn by children of Bosnia and other such places. Darkness, planes and bombs. All that they have known. I could weep. The product of financial and military might, the men in black suits.
Anyway, I've drifted away. Not a word here at the moment against the Tories.......half price at Costa's to encourage the return to the High Street. Boris Johnson is not all bad.
